hi everyone, i have a strange issue happening to me and i would appreciate it if someone could explain to me what is going on, i vape alot during the day and when i go to sleep at night and after waking up the next morning i have a weird taste in my mouth, i dont know how to describe it, it is like a sour taste in my mouth that is very annoying and totally gross,i feel like my breath is weird too, i use a volt e-cig with peach e-liquid from vapor4life,i thought it was the eliquid so i switched to another fruity flavor and then to another but i still have the same issue,i drink alot of water during the day and at night but that doesn't seem to make a difference, does anyone have the same problem? is that common when vaping ? or is it because of my e-cig or e-liquid brand ? i appreciate any suggestions to get rid of that weird taste.

thank you in advance
regards

Do you vape before sleeping? If you do, wash your mouth out with water before you go to sleep, so you have no reside in your mouth.

thank you for ur reply, i do vape before sleeping, but right before i go to bed, i always floss, brush and rinse my mouth with a mouth wash and drink water and then i go to bed, but that doesnt seem to change a thing.

It's also entirely possible that this "aftertaste" you guys are talking about has always been there, and you've just never noticed it.

Smoking destroys your ability to taste things, so over time, as you regain some of this and your body starts adapting to no longer smoking, you notice some of these kinds of things on a temporary basis.

I'd go with the dehydration and/or just noticing because of improved ability to taste things after quitting smoking.

Any signs of thrush, or any other fungal presence on the tongue? I have wondered if the antimicrobial nature of PG and VG could cause that, as antibiotics can.

I've noticed that some flavors tend to hang around even after a rigorous brushing of the teeth and tongue. Maybe try unflavored, or at least a non-fruity or two.

Look, ECF loves to blame dehydration and "your body is changing" for like everything and sometimes it's true...

However, I would say avoid that V4L Chinese fruit crap! When I started the V4L/Bloog fruit and flavors it tore my sinues to shreads. I'd wake up with mouth sores, blood in the Kleenex. I blamed "my body is changing" and sucked it up for like a week. Switched to Johnson Creek and it went away in an hour. Feel free to select any vendor you like, but I would give up vaping if I had to vape that fruit crap again. I just made my own fruit DIY which was smooth to my sinuses showing me the perfumy/chemically crap in V4L stuff--the Chinese crap is like searing rot gut IMO. Go try some JC summer peach if you like peach--you'll see a huge difference. Or ask around for some other smooth peach American juice with some quality. God knows what Kwon in China is stuffing into those nasty fruit V4L cartos! When I was new, it though that all stuff was the same--it's not! Dump that crap! Go DIY up some Capella peach, have some JC summer peach THEN go back to V4L. You will say "OMG! TY, RALIKAR!! I was vaping acid! I didn't know... You saved me... My hero!"

God knows whats in those cartos: mouse fur? baby drool? acid from someone's battery that fell into the vat? rat droppings?

I experienced this a bit when I first started vaping. It was a bit disconcerting to say the least. I haven't been thinking about it lately and wonder if it has passed or if I have become used to it. Someone made a comment basically alluding to it being morning breath but that we wouldn't notice it while smoking because our taste buds are fried. Could be...

Take for example, my eating/tasting habits since quitting smoking. I like spicy food, but have hated jalapenos since I can remember. I picked up a chicken sammy from Burger King a few weeks after quitting vaping. Some BBQ chicken thing that had jalapenos on it. Order it without them, but they forget I guess. I took a big ole bite out of the sandwich and CRUNCH, jalapenos. My immediate reaction was "Oh great." But, I chewed for a little bit and really liked the taste. I've found that one example and many more that I couldn't stand before and now just love them. Perhaps it is just coincidence or something like that. But, I'm finding my tastes have changed dramatically.

Keep up the drinking water and rinsing. Sure, some may dismiss the dehydration thing, but really, how bad can drinking more water be for you really? It may not be your specific issue, but drinking more water certainly is a smart thing. If you have any other issues, please don't hesitate to post. ECF will try and help out. And, congratulations on taking the plunge on vaping!
