It works. Tiny, simple, and only $1 worth of parts. This is the prototype.

I used nothing but the pump from a $1 bottle of hairspray I got at Target and a little juice bottle I had lying around (I think it came from JC). Squeeze the pump and it re-saturates the cart filling. Everything is press fit, no glue, no leaking. The only tools needed are a drill and something to cut the tubing.

Refined smaller version and tutorial to come.

That's by gawd something to pursue MoonMan. Are you able to use it with the cart still in the atty without over-filling? I know ya said tutorial coming but inquiring minds and all...

Definitely! If you had to take it apart what good would that do?

The sprayer originally pumped out too much, but that was remedied by simply cutting down the tube that plugs into the black pump button thereby making a shorter pump stroke. Now it pumps about 2-3 drops.

I'm fairly sure this could be modded to drip - you would just remove the cart filling and create a bend in the tubing that goes into the cart that points down at the atomizer. I prefer using a filled cart, myself.

See I don't think it is all about being lazy.
1st using a battery mode seems to use up more juice because one gets a more consistant vap and hit.
Once one is more familiar with how many vaps it takes until time to top off is needed then it would be easier to track your dosage and keep you from flooding the atomizer.

I drip on the atomizer of my 801, so wonder I you don't drip can you change the carts and there is no overlap in flavor?

Perhaps this is another reason why I should be looking into purchasing bulk 901 atomizers.

cool! that looks workable. beats the perfume sample sprayer. i found those almost clumsy to pump because of being too small.
can you use it with one hand, or do you have to hold the box and the pump when you use it?

Yes, you can use one hand. The way the box fits in your hand makes it easy, but I don't know about a regular e-cig. More work and testing coming.

UPGRADE!

spraymod.jpg

I got my 2ml sprayers yesterday. They need no spray volume modding as they only spray a tiny amount, at most 2 drops at a time. This is small enough to be attached to a regular ecig. The one pictured above has a retaining ring I made from some aluminum from a pop can that goes through the battery case. It looks nice and keeps it secure but it isn't strictly needed.

I was going to write up a how-to with pics, but it's so simple to do the pics shouldn't be necessary.

What you need:

The sprayer- I found them on eBay, about $5 shipped for five. Get the 2ml variety. I have some 4ml ones coming, but I don't know if they will be too big or not yet.

A tiny bit of plastic tubing to attach the bottle to the cart - I used the same bit from the prototype, it came out of the $1 hairspray bottle. It was the feeding tube. Below is the internal length of what I used.

tubelen.jpg

A cartridge - one you don't mind drilling. Type isn't important, at least on the 901. I was able to mod a single piece cart and one of those double piece carts, the procedure is basically the same. The one pictured above is the two piece variety.

A drill with a bit that is slightly smaller than the tubing you will use so the tube will fit tightly and not leak.

A sharp knife to cut the tubing. A hobby knife is best.

Procedure:

Drill out the sprayer nozzle with your drill, straight through the sprayer hole. Go deep enough to give enough room for the tubing to insert, but don't pierce the back of the chamber.

Drill a hole in the cart. Take the filling out first. You want to drill directly into the bottom of the filling chamber so when you pump the sprayer it pushes the fluid from the bottom of the cart towards the atomizer. On the two piece cart, you want to remove the cup and drill through the outer shell. Once you have done that, reinsert the cup and drill through that, using the outer shell hole as a guide. Make sure to drill into the cup on the flat side.

Cut your tubing. The length depends on what kind of ecig you're attaching this too. For an OEM e-cig, the tube will be fairly short and when it's assembled you won't even see it since the bottle will be flush with the cig. For a battery pack use like mine, it will probably be longer. Make sure you have spare tubing handy if you cut it too short. You will want to cut the end that goes into the cart at an angle so it elongates the hole and saturates the filling better.

Assemble! Insert the filling into your cart, and then press the tubing into it as far as it will go. Press the other end into the sprayer as far as you can. That's it!

Fill the sprayer and pump it a few times. Check for leaks and make sure the filling is getting moist.

Congrats, you now have an e-cig that doesn't need to be constantly taken apart to be refilled! Just give it a pump or two when the vapor goes down, but not too much or you will get flooding and juice in the mouth like a normal overfill.

Keep an eye out for my NEW mod coming soon - the UPAC!

Eventually you are going to have to refill the bottle..I see another mod coming, for a mod, for a mod and so on and so on

Obviously you have to refill the bottle, no modding will fix that. It's not a magic bottle that refills itself. :/

A 2ml bottle lasts me most of the day. Your mileage may vary.

My next mod is going in a slightly different direction - it will "tie up all the loose ends", so to speak.

Just one thing I see that my become a problem, when you press on the spray bottle, since the connection is static, wouldn't that weaken the connection of the aty from the pressure? I've been thinking of something similar since I saw the fang. I bought the very same perfume sprayer, perfect size and very cheap form ebay as well. I just can't figure out how to make it so that when I depress the sprayer nozzle down, it does not put pressure on the aty shaft. Maybe a long flexibel surgical tube? Just long enough to give it a little "play" when you press on the sprayer. Just my .2, but overall NICE mod. Been looking thinking about the same idea... Now I know it can be done. I too hate the constant removing of the cartridge to fill up, removing 2 caps (juice/cartridge), overfilling, juice in mouth, grabing this and that, towel to wipe, fingers and atty, blah blah blah... This is nice and neat... THANKS

That's easy - the connection doesn't move, the BOTTLE does. You pump it by pressing the bottle up instead of pressing the top down. The sleeve I have my bottle in allows it to slide.

I've been using this mod for a few days now and it hasn't leaked at all.
