Just received the $12 private v2 clone (alumi + brass) from fasttech after 2.5 weeks.

First impressions

The bad:
  • The aluminum finish is ugly
  • Weak threads, although I am delicately careful
  • lightweight (good for some)
  • No battery vents in any configuration

The good
  • it hits hard, while I have not conducted any formal, empirical tests, I can say I'm sufficiently nic'd out after chain-vaping halcyon cran-chi 6mg as compared to my k100 which gives me no head change at all on the same juice and dripper. (Vaping at .5ohm on a 24awg single coil wrapped on cotton)
  • Cheap
  • The locking ring is buttery smooth and really easy to use

Overall:
  • I'm sufficiently satisfied with the $12 that I spent...however in finally receiving and using a clone for the first time, I will definitely be in the market for a real deal mech in the future. For now, this will suffice until I get that $$$.:vapor:

Considering a good portion of this mod is aluminum, I think it should be pretty obvious that it would be pretty light weight; and aluminum threads are weak on any device - including the $180 Grand Vapor originals.

I was quite happy with the finish on mine from when I received it brand new - especially for $12.

It DOES have ventilation. Both the top and bottom inner sleeves have 2 vents holes each.
It should only be used in 18650 mode - unless you drill holes in the outer sleeve (like I have)
It should be set up like this in 18650.

If used in 18500/490 and you have drilled at least 1 vent hole in the outer sleeve - make sure that the inner tubes do not close off the vent holes; I use a magnetic battery spacer to even out the gaps on both ends.

If you can afford to spend the extra $8.00 or so and want a heavier device, ss threading, top and bottom detachable inner sleeves (top cap and button) and vented in the middle of the tube, I would highly suggest buying this one instead $20.96 Private V2 Telescoping Mech Mod E-Cigarette Battery Compartment - brass + copper + stainless steel at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
