I noticed a lot of sellers now are offering the starter kit with one manual and one automatic battery.

I have one 510 automatic battery and I'm relatively impressed with it's performance, but I definately perfer the manual battery. I bought the Dura-C to begin with to get away from all the automatic switch problems I was having with my 401. I just don't think automatic batteries are perfected yet and prefer the simplicity and performance of the manual battery.

I'm also worried about things I've read of the 510 auto battery sticking on and burning out atomizers.

Last week I wouldn't have thought I would like an automatic battery. I just received my Titan 510 PCC and it came with an automatic battery with a blue led. The timing of the switch is just perfect to get the best draw. In fact it just matches my operation of the manual battery.

I have no complaints about the function of this battery. I still prefer the manual control though.

Are the automatic batteries coming with or without a cutoff, and if with cutoff, is there a waiting period before it will allow you to use it again, or does it just blink and you can start right back in if you want?

Took me a day or so to get used to the manual batteries, but I LOVE them - I was so frustrated by the cutoff on at least one of the models I'd tried, which wouldn't let me vape for a couple of minutes if I hit it... think it was the 401. And I would naturally want to draw for maybe an extra half second beyond the cutoff, so I hit it often, and was admonished and punished by the thing for doing so.

I hate, hate, HATE it when a device stops me from doing the very thing that is its raison d'etre (sorry, not sure how to put the accents in there). I know the risk of hitting it longer than 5 seconds, and if every now and then I choose to assume that risk, well then dangit (actually, the stronger version of the word should go here), I want to be able to do it.

That said, I do occasionally appreciate the automatic on my penstyle... of course, it warns me if I hit too long but allows me to continue immediately, and that is the right thing for it to do. I've also learned to get around it by drawing sharply, inhaling, exhaling through my nose, then drawing again, and repeating as many times as I feel like I need to. So I will probably order one or two automatics for my 510 arsenal as long as they don't come with a cooling off period. Oh, but I do so love the freedom of the manual switch, and any new device I purchase must have this as at least an option.

Bit of a rant there, but feedback was requested, so feedback was provided... :)

I gave my auto battery a try and could not hit a cutoff... actually got to the point where the liquid tasted burnt! But as I say, I only have one, so the auto fans should answer this...

I'm not a real expert on the auto, I've only been vaping a little over a month, but it's been all 510 auto, very few times do I use my one manual. The only time I have seen problems with what looks like I'm getting a cut off is if I over fill the cart with fluval filling. These batteries are very, very sensitive but I can get it to happen and it's always user error.

Maybe someone else could chime in, but for me as long as I get decent air flow and I don't get lazy when I'm restuffing my carts all works great for me.

As I voted, I like both of them and both got their cons and pros.

auto:

  • easier to use, whilst doing other stuff at the same time, no need of a hand holding the button
  • does fit in the PCC without modding it
  • as described -> sensitive to whatever -> sometimes cut-off after 3 sec then after 5-6 sec -> both fine for me
manual:

  • manual control of the cut-off
  • release the button keep on inhaling for another 2 sec --> cooling the atomiser !!
Like to have the choice!!

Def prefer the manuals, hitting the buttons not that big of a deal, plus it makes it ready to go right there. Not to mention you can drip with the manuals because there's no hole in the battery. All 3 of my 510's are manual. The only thing I like about Auto's is if I'm doing landscaping or mowing I can just hit it, instead of having to stop and hit a button, but overall manuals are my jawn.
