When I look at my auto batt where it meets the atomizer, I see '0209' stamped on the inner ring I assume that's a manufacturing date/batch number. Clean the connection out with a Q-tip that's slightly damp with rubbing alcohol. This will help the connection. As for draw technique... try drawing light as possible and increasingly draw harder. My white auto 510 w/LED battery doesn't have a cutoff that I can realistically reach. BUT it can stop if you're not inhaling hard/fast enough. It's not a cutoff, just falling below the threshold for the sensor.

This is why, manual batteries are the bomb. :D

Thanks for the info. I tried what you suggested but it made no difference. I also send totallywicked an email about this and they just responded that the automatic battery DOES have a short cutoff. Hmmm....it sure didn't for the first hour I was using it! Perhaps the auto batteries they sell are different from the one you have and I couldn't read the number on the battery to compare it to yours. Anyway, I asked Wicked if they would exchange my auto for a manual. Hopefully they will do so !

I have noticed one thing that might be of interest to others. I have had the hot atomizers like others have. I have begun releasing the switch while continuing to draw for 2 to 3 seconds. This takes advantage of all available heat plus it pulls cooling air through the atomizer. I get a little more vapor and a slightly cooler atomizer.

Try it and see if you don't notice the same thing.

Thanks a2. I was having one out of my four atoms getting hotter than the others. Your suggestion indeed helps alleviate it. This happened to be the atom that was on my first autobatt when it stuck for the first time. I looked down and the end was still lit up and it was blowing smoke out the air holes...LOL. That atom is amazing that it didn't just fry right then and there. It gets a little hotter, but it still works (I haven't tried any remedies on it yet - figured I'd wait til it got worse).

I started vaping at 6:30am yesterday morning. At 1:32am this morning (19 hours total) I went through 5 fully charged 510 manual LED batts. I've got two chargers.

19/5 = 3.8 average hours for each battery :thumb: and that's with heavy vaping, constantly puffing away with hardly any breaks except to eat. Today was the first time I made an actual effort to monitor this.

I also went through about 5ml of liquid (dripping and topping off), maybe a bit more if you count what was in the 5 carts that I had already prefilled myself, the night before.

My wife just got a Yeti starter kit from Electronicstix and the button on it sticks up MUCH higher than any I have seen before (regardless of LED or no LED). I've heard of a change from hard plastic to rubber, but has the height of the button now been increased for some reason? It's quite annoying!

I don't know if anyone else has ever figured this out, but if you think your non-LED battery is getting weak and near dying and you want to test it, unscrew it from the atomizer and then screw it back on... if it is near to dying it won't work anymore when you screw it back on. Then you can charge it...

I have the manual batteries without LED, probably short since they were purchased recently. I am getting much shorter use time than others -- probably one hour, maybe little more.

I'm in the same boat here with 1 hour of use before it needs re-charging. So I'm thinking this is not normal?

How long do you charge it? Until it turns green, or beyond that? I hate the mysteries of batteries, but there has been some discussion elsewhere on this forum that e-cig charger LEDs turn green when the battery has reached 70% charge and then slowly continue to charge up to 100% after that...

It's usually beyond that of turning green (unless I'm desperate). How much longer after it turns green is fully charged? Is there a way to tell it's 100% charged?

If I can figure out how long to charge, then I'm going to get a couple of those lamp on/off plug-ins so I can get this battery charging thing worked out lol!

Is green really green - no it really means red unless it's green!:D

A question for those of you who have the Dura-C passthrough: does it give the same performance with throat hit and vapor as does using the battery?

I have the Kissbox passthrough but I feel a touch of the performance is missing when I use it.

The Kensington power pack is great. I bought 2 of them when they were on sale at bestbuy.com. That pretty little momma lasts me 2 days before needing a charge!

Good question... the manual says to leave on for one hour even if the LED turns green... I find that the LED doesn't always turn green within one hour... I tend to leave them on for three hours, but I don't know if anyone has tested what is optimum.

I guess you could check the charge level of the battery with a multimeter... I recently got one for this purpose, but haven't experimented much with it yet.

The manual that comes with the 510 systems I have is wrong. If you have a lithium ion battery there is a built-in protection circuit. This circuit cuts off the battery when the battery voltage reaches 3.5 volts. It will allow the battery to be charged until about 4.1 volts and then shuts the battery charge cycle off. You cannot overcharge these batteries and you can't fully discharge the batteries.

This protection circuit is necessary because the li-ion battery is very fragile. Any amount of over-charge or over-discharge will kill these types of batteries.

Seems the case here, as well. Two different sources, but the 510 manual battery button sticks up quite a bit, much moreso than the one on my 510 USB passthrough.

The USB passthrough gives the same performance as the manual batteries, or slightly better (constant voltage/no drop). The battery inline in the passthrough is a 10440, 3.6v rechargeable, 370 mAh.

Wow, and I thought I was vaping alot! With that level of sustained use, how long do your atomizers typically last?

There is a very good reason for the height of the newer buttons. The little ones can fall through the hole and be lost inside. Veiwing the hole from the ouside I notice some interesting things, the battery itself is not visible and appears to be almost another quarter inch away from the hole at the connection end. That would make the battery no longer then 1 1/2 inch long. It is a wonder that shorter versions have not been made. This is thye second time this has happened, the first I was able to retreive the button from inside and relocate the tactile switch but this time the button is just gone to far. I have a warranty claim sent to Dietsmokes now and we will see which kind I get for replacement. I can say I hope it has the taller button like my passthrough.

This is an interesting thread. I have 3 manual batts in rotation(2 w/LED) and when new all lasted 3-4 hours(over 5 weeks ago). One of these only lasts 30 - 60 minutes now before it's dead. The other two last 2-3 hours tops, they definitely have shorter life spans between charges now. I haven't experimented with a new atomizer yet, I think I will give that shot and see if it makes a difference in batt life. I been using 3 atomizers in a rotation, all get noticably hotter than when new but are still working great. I have an auto batt but I have issues with it staying on like Kreel reported. I've had to unscrew the batt on a few occasions to get it to shut off. Needless to say the atomizer got smoking hot. Just picking it up will activate this thing some times, it's very touchy. I wouldn't recommend carrying an assembled 510 with an auto batt in your pocket..... :)
