There's no earthly way of knowing
Which direction we are going.
There's no knowing where we're rowing
Or which way the river's flowing.
Is it raining?
Is it snowing?
Is a hurricane a blowing?

Not a speck of light is showing
so the danger must be growing.
Are the fires of hell a glowing?
Is the grisly reaper mowing?
Yes! The danger must be growing
For the rowers keep on rowing.
And they're certainly not showing
any signs that they are slowing!

The Chrome ALPHA are on there way back from the plating company(shipped today). We have a couple days of running SB Bottoms for powdercoating. ALPHA pins should be back from plating next week as well. After we recieve back from plating and check clearances we will be able to machine the bushings. The bushings are quick runs. I do not want to give a date, but it looks like it is all going to come together soon :)

Pics won't help you unless the look is everything to you.
They're basically the same size. It's the operational difference. Button switch -- silky smooth, ergonomically perfect both in feel and placement, and will last a lifetime, OR mechanical top activated -- user serviceable, last a lifetime.

WIth the switch you have more options to activate it. Thumb, any finger tip, middle pad on thumb or any finger, etc. It is rotationally dependent though. You need to have the button rotated to where it's under whatever you're going to press it with. This can be a factor if you use something like whistle tips... when you screw the atty on the whistle tip may not line up with the button so you have to reach a couple of mm one way or the other.
With the Alpha you will be mostly restricted to activating it by pressing the top with your thumb. but it's not rotationally dependent. You can press the top at any point.
If you're going to use tanks that may have a diameter the same as the BB or Alpha then top activated may not work so well for you since you won't be able to put your thumb on top of it.

If Chad made the body with the same taper as the Omega then the Alpha will look a lot sexier than the BB and possibly feel better in the hand (not that the BB doesn't feel good).

I've owned my Omega for almost two months, and my partner has had her SB for two weeks. I love both of them. We just need a couple of smaller Pv's for when she is at work and when I am out and about. We are in love with cartos and don't use anything else on them. I like the clearos and the Maps that are out, but there has to be some tweaking on those before I will buy them again. Love the Yeti-C's. Now I just have to stock up while trying to decide which lil brother I want to add to my collection.

Updates:
Seems like every time I post an update something happens :(
I have recieved the Chrome ALPHA, they are freaking flawless :)
Waiting on pins to be returned from plating(i'm thinking thursday)
Mori Seiki to finish up some tweaking on the machine(replaced the sub spindle and back end electronics) hopefully tomorrow:facepalm:
Run out SB bottoms for plating(we will most likely cut a bit short to finish ALPHA parts)
Tweak in tolerances to allow for plating/powder coating
I am trying my best to have some in Philly

As far as the shape, I did contour the bottom like the OMEGA. I also made some changes to the mechanism of the ALPHA.........
It is the same diameter as the BB, so it will take the same batteries.......
I think it feels much smaller than the BB, mostly due to no switch protruding and the contour. I really think people will love it.

I just hope it will all come together in a timely fashion...... It has been a stressful couple of weeks for me and my machinest. Like i said earlier, every time I make mention of timeline something screws it up....... now where did I put that list......

Wow, this is exciting news for sure and a great update. I appreciate you taking the time to let us know where you are in the process.

Anything from AltSmoke is going to be awesome, that's just a given.
