Blitz - its a matter of what suits YOU PERSONALLY - its not really a matter of educating yoruself on nic levels. You'll find your sweet spot - almos tno-one gets it right first time :)

Lookingtoquit - have you read through the smokeless tobacco subforum? SOmetimes the anxiety on quitting is just normal but sometimes its because your body is craving the MAOI (monoamine oxidase inhibitors) it used to get from tobacco. You can get these from sources that dont involve combustable tobacco.

i know, i feel you on that im just trying to set a basis of where to begin and take it from there, but educating ones self and obtaining product knowledge is beneficial to help get you where you need to be. I like to take a general consensus of where others are at and then ill make decisions based of that.

i look at it like this. a regular full flavor king size analog has about 22 mg. and since i can have only one or two pulls, pretty much anytime i want rather than a full cigarette, i end up using my PV more often but with less time per use than with regular cigs. because of that i use 36 mgs for my juice and this works great for me.

this is where for some reason im getting confused, so if a analog has 22 mg of nic in it you are consuming 22mg give or take of nicotine per a cig?? now with a 36 mg juice, are you getting 36mg per a pull or are you getting 36mg per 13-15 pulls it takes to finish a analog?? this is more or less what i should have asked from the beginning. i want to be pretty much where im at with my current nic lvl intake with analogs and try to drop it from there over time.

It might have 22mg of nic in it (a cig to use that example) but thats not what you will absorb - the best 'delivery system' for nicotine IS a cigarette, with a PV, and ejuice, you get even less than you do with a cig (and you receive it differently too, cigs give a spike instant hit, ejuice via a PV is more slow and steady)- the mg per ml is really jsut a guide so you don't go overboard with nicotine. You aren't actually getting that amount in a ml in your bloodstream. Thers a subforum all about nic Nicotine - E-Cigarette Forum you may find the info you seek in that.

Thanks for the links they were way helpful, now after reading all that is seems that 36mg e-liquid should be perfect for me based off of my current smoking habit.

Do whatever works for you, and don't worry about what anyone else's "mg, or amounts of ml" vaped per day. You are still doing something better for yourself by giving up analogs. Do what satisfies your cravings, and if you want to lower your need for nicotine, worry about that later, after you are used to vaping. I did that, and have gone from 18 mg (about 3ml / day to 13.5 mg about 3 ml / day) in about 2 months. It's about you and your individual needs, and what is going to get you to your goal. If you want to quit nicotine altogether, I suggest doing it slowly, as it is a highly addictive substance. Cut down in steps and give yourself time between each one to get used to the change, as I am doing. I have not had an anolog since 4-13-10 and do not intend to ever have one again! Vape on to your health!

The thing is, your current smoking habits have very little to do with it. Honestly. The way you knew when you had smoked too many cigarettes too quickly had nothing to do with math: you just felt it. It's the same with vaping.

In my opinion, the fastest and cheapest way to find your nic level is this:

Just bite the bullet and buy a small bottle of low, med, and high nic liquid (some bland, likely inoffensive flavor like ECOpure krystal). None of it will be wasted! (you will learn later how to mix juices)

Try the low first. Forget about the flavor, you're just finding your nic strength. If it gives you a sharp little headache, or makes your stomach feel like you swallowed some chewing-tobacco, then it's too high. If it feels like a nice nic fix, you are done. If you don't feel anything from the low nic, try the med, then the high. If one is too weak, but the next is too high, mix those 2 strengths 50/50, or half and half, and you made juice that has a nic level half-way between those 2 numbers (the math is straightforward). 50% of 10 mg juice mixed with 50% 20 mg juice gives you 15 mg juice. Make sure it is mixed well.

Don't worry about a dangerous overdose at these strengths. You are only likely to get a mild overdose, just enough to give yourself a little headache or upset stomach. Both symptoms will go away in 15 - 45 minutes.

Oh, and bear in mind that I am not a doctor, so this is all at your own risk. ;)
