The bad aftertaste...

I've been vaping for four-and-a-half weeks now, and in that time have not picked up a single analog. I've been feeling pretty proud of myself, but still have one issue I'm trying to overcome -- that bitter, lingering, awful aftertaste that seems to accompany so many of the e-juices I've tried. It has been present since the first day, but instead of getting better it is only becoming worse and harder to ignore. I've only found one e-juice that doesn't carry the aftertaste, but the company from whom I ordered it has declared it "out of stock" for weeks now, and I can't find another supplier who brews the flavor the way I liked it from the first one.

My question: is there a way to minimize this horrid aftertaste? It's getting to the point to where I'm going to throw in the towel because I feel like I'm about to gag. I've used mouthwash, gum, and water to try to minimize that lingering "flavor", but to no avail. I obviously cannot keep trying to order from different suppliers all the time, because all I feel like I'm doing is wasting money. Not only have I tried ordering my favorite flavor (cola) from many other suppliers, but have tried ordering other flavors as well -- in the smallest available sizes, that is, so I didn't end up with a major surplus of crap. I need to do something, because I really enjoy the convenience of vaping, as well as the fact that I'm already able to breathe better, can smell and taste things again (maybe TOO well), and don't smell like stale smoke any longer.

Any advice??? All comments are appreciated... Thanks!

dlbald, thanks for replying. I've ordered from The Vapor Pro (the only one that made the Cola I liked, but it has been out of stock for weeks), FreedomSmokeUSA, Backwoods Brew, Liberty Flights, and another one that I simply cannot think of at the moment. In addition to the Cola, I've tried Mint (NASTY), Chocolate (NASTIER), Coffee (muddy), Tobacco (won't even go there), and several samples that one of the suppliers threw in for free (Orange, Lemonade, Fuzzy Navel, etc. -- did not purchase these). I want something with a little bit of sweet to it but not overpowering like I imagine some of the fruit ones are, and of course, without the bitter aftertaste. Ideas? Thanks!

I'd try dripping for a while (I know, but wait...) to see if you still pick up that taste. It might just be that you got a funky batch of carts. Stranger things have happened! Because unless you've got an aversion to the taste of pg or vg, that's all I can come up with.

Wait, you said carts, not cartos - when was the last time you cleaned your attys?

Such a mystery. Like I said, I'd recommend trying dripping on that clean atty, see if it's still a problem, then maybe try any 100% VG you've got to see if it's a problem, then any 100% pg (if you have any). Because it's the only common denominator in those juices - the nicotine solutions differ from vendor to vendor, but usp grade PG is PG is PG, know what I mean?

Thanks, Shanagan.. greatly appreciated. I'll try my drip tip when I get home from work today (didn't bring it with me), and I'm also thinking that adding some VG might help. Of course, if the Vapor Pro ever gets more of its Cola in stock, my problem will be solved anyway... but I don't want to wait until that might happen!

Maybe do a good cleaning on the filler? I had noticed a difference in taste with the same flavor/batch, only difference was I opened a bunch of empty carts and pre-filled. Rinsed and better. I kept melting the ends of the carts though - I have a problem with rushing and didn't always line-up properly and that sucked! I'm a dripper now, except cartos at bedtime.

What kind of filler are you using in the carts? Polyfil that comes in them? Have you tried the fluval foam? I tried both and I think the fluval gives a better flavor and performance. Wash and dry the fluval well before using it, I have heard. But I do not really like using carts so far, or dripping. I am hoping to get an atty I can dip with soon and give it a try. So far, I am happiest with cartomizers. If you clean them out regularly they work great.

I have not tried The Vapor Pro so I can't give any opinion on their products. But I have tried FreedomSmokeUSA, Backwoods Brew and Liberty Flights. My opinion of their juice (keep in mind I have usually ordered tobacco flavors:

FreedomSmokeUSA :(
Backwoods Brew
Liberty Flights :)
Good Prophets

I also have some other vendors juices steeping. I am getting ready to prepare some e2 r4 cartos to try. I am thinking of trying the BR mod on some of them.
