Those tubes that Mike sent me were anodized black. They get clear coated with lacquer when I finish the wood though and that makes it shiny. I think the black looks better with the wood than silver but I just work with what they send me.

I agree. The black finishes it to perfection. The silver makes it look unfinished. (in my humble opinion)

When I got my woody buzz with the silver tube exposed, I used a metallic leafing pen (in copper) and very carefully covered the exposed silver tube. It looks great. The only drawback is I have to touch it up once a week from wear.

That's why I'm thinkin' it would be good to hit it with color before everything else because then it will be protected with 5 coats of lacquer.

right on Mist. There's nothing I can do about it now. But that would be great for all the new ones you're vaneering.

The clear finish is lacquer. Isn't clear nail polish just lacquer? If you can put the gold on carefully enough couldn't you top coat it with that? Probably last longer anyhow.

I don't use the buzz all the time, Mist. So I don't mind re-touching it. And I'm scared I'll get nail polish on the button or maybe dribble into that little hole. The metallic pen I use is a slant tip so I'm not worried about dribbling into the button hole. It's all good. Your idea to color them ahead of time is the way to go for sure.

'K then. Just a suggestion.
I have a little NotCigs PV family started here myself. I don't use my veneered ones unless I'm out and about so they get less use. I only have this one Infinity though and I kinda like the shape of it. I mau have to get an everyday one some day.

Now that I have both (copper classic and bubinga buzz), I personally like the feel of the infinity better. The long and slender works well for me. The infinity is my absolute favorite mod.

I got the silver caps for my woody to "match" the silver around the buttons... As soon as I newer woodies, the first things I noticed it that the newer inlays were outstanding, but the next I noticed was they look much better IMHO with the black tube. Now that I am reading the ideas about changing the color I kind of wish I got the brass caps! I'm thinking maybe something as simple as a little brown nail polish!

I just ordered my Mom a blemished silver Buzz with brass caps, maybe I'll grab those and give her my silver caps!

Mike had suggested using nail polish before, too. BUT, my hands are kinda crippled and I'm afraid of the brush and getting too close to the button. When my son comes over, I'll have him help me post a picture where I used the slant tip metallic pen on the surround area. However, it sounds like Mist is gonna start putting colors around the newer ones from now on. I really like the black surround or a color surround.
