I'm usually just a lurker on forums but after reading just 12 of the 108 pages Confused Old Lady - 50 Yrs Marlboro Reds - Grateful for Any Help, Advice, Recommendations written by Littleoldlady, I felt compelled to join and post thanks to the friendly people here.
Like many others, I saw the late night commercials and infomercials about e-cigs. When I investigated the websites and saw what was required, I knew it was a scam (well, not really a true scam, but not really on the up-and-up, trying to separate you from way more of your $$$ than justified). I, for a while, pretty much just wrote the whole industry off.
But in another month, we've been notified that for the privilege of smoking, insurance was going to start charging an extra $30.00 / mth / smoker in your household. If you try to cheat and they find out, they can drop you entirely. I have a moral problem with paying that (but that's a whole different discussion). Then while going to a store called tobacco Barn in town owned by Brookshire Brothers, a regional supermarket chain, I saw a sign outside advertising an e-cig starter kit for $15.99. Paying $40.00 for an off-brand carton that tastes as close to a Marlboro as I could afford, I thought this was worth looking into.
So Friday after work, I went in and asked some questions. 15 minutes later, I came out with a Cig2O kit for $15.99 + tax. It included the battery portion, a USB charger, and 2 - 24mg tobacco flavored carts. I did absolutely no research on any of this, and for me that is unusual.
Since then, I've learned that the Cig2O is actually a KR808D-1. Looks like I made a good choice, and the price was certainly right.
I'm still smoking some 305 Blue Kings, but I'm hoping that will be short lived. I don't really care much for the tobacco flavored carts as they aren't "heavy" enough compared to the real thing I'm used to. After finding this loverly place and doing some reading, I placed an order today at myfreedomsmokes for their knock-off Marlboro lights juice, as well as some grape, blackberry and watermelon. I'm hoping that once I get past the whole needing the ash tray taste, feel, throat and lung hit, I'll be able to go with some actual pleasant flavors.
Though not completely happy yet, mostly just because it's not the harshness I'm used to, I see a lot of potential in this. So much so that I'll probably go pick up another kit soon so I can have 1 to charge and 1 to carry. When I get the hang of it, I want to try to convert my wife as well. Eventually I can see myself getting one of those nice carry/charge kits that holds 2 batteries and somewhere around 6 carts.
Though I haven't immediately stopped the somewhere north of a pack a day habit, I can see this doing that sometime soon.
I'd love to hear from anyone about their opinions or anything else they have to say.
Thanks for "listening".
