You can still find authentic Sony VTC4s at vendors like RTDVapor and Illumn Supply. Best batteries out there right now IMO are the Sony VTC3 and 4, as well as the LG HB6 according to @Mooch 's testings runs far cooler under 30amp load than the VTC. 20amp CDR class the Samsung 25R as well as the LG HE2 and 4 are top notch in that category.

Sony has never marketed their battery to the public, only to OEM's using battery packs. They are still making batteries.

+1 on what @IMFire3605 said.

Here are links to some of Mooch's blogs:
* No matter what is printed on the battery wrapper: There are no 18650 batteries with a genuine rating over 30A!

Up to 15 amps, 60-70 watts, Samsung 25Rs. Over that, Sony VTC3s (impossible to get) and VTC4s (much better supply). For routine use above 20 amps/150ish watts, LG HB6s (available, but capacity sux.) For mech mods, VTC4s or HB6s all the time. I run VTC4s in everything. They're a couple bucks higher than the 25Rs, but I like the thicker safety margin. I often run mechs, even though I have good regulated mods, and I wouldn't put anything but VTC4s in them, so I just run them across the board to keep from having different spec batteries laying around. However, if you've got a regulated mod under 100 watts or so-- Subox, Sigelei Mini or 75 TC, what have you-- the 25R is probably a better choice. Cheaper, and 500 mAh better storage capacity.

I want to know what the best 18650 battery is to get, and what your opinion is on them?

I hear that the Efest are rewrapped crap, so don't include that... also I hear that Sony no longer market the VTC's ?

Let me know below what is best to go for at this point in time.

If you're using mech mods what is the lowest resistance you'll be using with them? If you're using regulated mods what is the most watts you'll be using? If you'll be using dual batts in either case let us know.

Thanks everyone :) I will be using 25r for my Subox Mini... and VTC4's for Tesla Invader II... does this seem pretty reasonable ?
Yes, I reckon. How high are you going to go with a 2 x 18650 mech?

I am about as clued up on batteries as nuclear physics. I only buy from 100% reliable places and always buy the best for value (not the absolute 'best'). Last pair I bought were LG HE4s. I got them instead of the 25rs. Just had a feeling about them.
(OK, I did research, but I couldn't choose between the two).

    Best darn 14500, 18350, 18450/18500 batteries out there. I even have a 18650 24A (1600 mAh) battery that I still use.:)

I've kinda been wanting to upgrade to the newer 18490s, but my old ones just won't quit.
They have black stickers even. and I do need to get some 14500s.
