In the past whenever I quit smoking I would constantly think about smoking. And whenever I was smoking I would always think about quitting. A real love hate relationship. There were times where I would go without thinking about lighting up but the urge was always there and I was reminded of it constantly. I smoked for a good part of 30 years and I absolutely loved it but at the same time I knew it would most likely cut my life short and I was really starting to feel the ill effects. It occurred to me, now that I vape, I am no longer haunted about the thought of starting smoking again. The absolute agonizing thought of actually picking up a cigarette and satisfying that crave is finally gone. The satisfaction of vaping equals if not surpasses smoking real cigarettes. To me, that is a miracle. For the first time in my life I am free from cigarettes.
Well said Rhinsen. Pretty much the same experience I had, cept I smoked for about 42 years. Just the act of lighting a cigarette was such a habit that sometimes I would have 2 or, a couple of times, even 3 going in the ash tray at the same time.
I chain smoked at every opportunity. I was in denial of how much money was "going up in smoke". Not to mention the health factor.
I kept hearing those adds on the radio for the Smoke Assasin. A free trial for an electronic cigarette. Fortunately I did some online research and found ECF before I got caught up in the free trial mess.
I ended up ordering an Ego starter kit. The day I got it was the last time I smoked a cigarette.
Now I can vape freely in the house, in the car. Even at our Christmas get-together with a house full of non-smoking friends and relatives.
A few other reasons vaping is better than smoking:
Never again lighting the filter end by accident. (this always brought guffaws from both smokers and non-smokers)
Never again burning your fingers when the ciggy sticks to your lips, LOL.
No more stinky ash trays.
No more worry of burning the house down.
I can vape in bed.
Saves lots of money.
If I drop my PV in the car, it's not a problem.
