I just returned from a 2-week visit to Davao, Philippines, where the Mayor enacted a highly enforced law against smoking in ALL public areas.
Well, whenever I vaped in a restaurant or taxi or shopping area--or wherever, I would get a comment about "no smoking." However, I just told them that I wasn't smoking, but was using a common US device that just gives off steam. My explanation was always 100% accepted and I continued to vape where I was.
I think I was challenged like 15-20 times in Davao, and each time the complainer simply walked away saying "okay" after I gave my explanation.
