I say that because there is just too many scriptures that point to that, and not even one that I know of that says once saved always saved. Ok, I did my homework today!!!!!!
First, the Parable of the Sower:
Matthew 13:3-9:
3 Then [Jesus] told them many things in parables, saying: “A farmer went out to sow his seed.
4 As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up.
5 Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow.
6 But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root.
7 Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants.
8 Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop – a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.
9 He who has ears, let him hear.” [NIV]
The Disciples asked what the parable meant so Jesus explained.......
Matthew 13:18-23
18 “Listen then to what the parable of the sower means:
19 When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is the seed sown along the path.
20 The one who received the seed that fell on rocky places is the man who hears the word and at once receives it with joy.
21 But since he has no root, he lasts only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, he quickly falls away.
22 The one who received the seed that fell among the thorns is the man who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke it, making it unfruitful.
23 But the one who received the seed that fell on good soil is the man who hears the word and understands it. He produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.” [NIV]
Another one is John 3:16:
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
I understand that the word "believes" in the Greek is actually an on going verb. It really says that unless we keep on believing in Him we will perish and not have everlasting life. We are saved by Grace as long as we keep on believing in Him.
And another one: Mark 13:13 Jesus says:
“All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved.
It says that "he who stands firm to the end will be saved", meaning only those who stand firm to the end, implying that there will be those who can't endure till the end and they give in.
Another one: "Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first..." 2 Thessalonians 2:3. A "falling away" first? Who fell away? Once saved christians I'm guessing.
And the most compelling evidence are the scriptures that say that your name can be removed from the book of life. How can it be removed if it wasn't there to begin with????
Psalm 69:28 (New International Version)
28 May they be blotted out of the book of life
and not be listed with the righteous.
And
Exodus 32:31-33 (New International Version)
31 So Moses went back to the LORD and said, "Oh, what a great sin these people have committed! They have made themselves gods of gold. 32 But now, please forgive their sin—but if not, then blot me out of the book you have written." 33 The LORD replied to Moses, "Whoever has sinned against me I will blot out of my book.
And
Revelation 3:5 - He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.
Also in Revelation 2:5, where Jesus warns the entire church at Ephesus that He will remove their lampstand from its place unless they repent.
