HA, dude that's awesome!!! It's so cool to see all this stuff crammed up in there... good work buddy!
Was this for me? Cool, thanks for noticing. It pinches a little when I sit down and there is like no throat hit at all.
^ Nice! I'll be building my Ithaka tonight.
Use a toothpick with some of the tip cut off to polish and clean out the track. The problem with aluminum is that when it oxidizes if forms aluminum oxide which is just below diamond on the hardness scale... You need to polish off this layer of oxidation to make the track smooth again, and a paper towel just won't do the job. When you're done cleaning the tracks, apply some oil and it should be smooth again.
Thanks for this advice. I have started having the same thing happen with mine. I figured it just needed a good cleaning and lubrication, but wasn't sure how to go about it.Hmm, I had that issue. I had to lube up the ball itself, the track and the socket, and wipe down the edges of the door and the "track" that the door slides into as well. for that one, I took a little bit of a paper towel and formed a point with it and stuck it in there. ALOT of black residue came off. After that I used some more silicon lubricant that I use for airsoft guns and it was back to normal after opening it a couple of times.
just the wood with a lil olive oil, you just need to get all the black aluminum oxide out. after a good rubbing, clean with a paper towel, and re oil with a very little bit of olive oil....extra virgin tastes better....Should I apply some abrasive to the toothpick, or is the plain wood enough?

I had them made for me by this guy on Facebook
Are those the same as the ones made by another member here on the forum? Sure looks like the work in his thread.
