Oh, SilentEcho so sorry to here about the mishap of your BB. Hope ya can get it fixed and back before you go. But that will really be iffy.

SE, sorry to hear this. I am sure Doug will take care of it. I would be freaking out not having my BB. Hmmm, me thinks it is i time for some type of back up for my back ups

And yeah, I'm bugging out right now. I reached for it this morning while waking up to take a morning drag and it didn't work (and it didn't have batteries in it).

Does it get hot above the electronics area when you try to fire it? Sounds weird but put the metal against your lip next to the drip tip and press/hold the button. If it gets hot, it could be the protection kicking in on a couple bad cartos. My "bad" carto worked fine on my Zmax but tripped the circuit on the BB and would only fire for a sec randomly.

Edit: The chip and heatsink at the top of the board in the picture Retird posted is what gets hot if the circuit protection is tripped.

Nothing gets hot at all. Right now it just smells like burnt death of some sort :/. I tried multiple cartos including new and old ones and none worked. They all worked fine on my other devices though.

I'm not sure, mine is completely dead, it won't even occasionally begin to fire anymore. It's just a brick :/

While we await shipping notices and pics of the latest works of metal art otherwise known affectionately as the Billet Box, having read earlier in this thread of a rather large percentage of CC fraud report posted here, I wanted to call to attention the new thread where ECF Mod Judge Dredd is compiling a list of recent vendors used by those of us that have had their CC info hacked. While this CAN NOT include Billet Box Vapor since payment here is not made directly with a CC, there well could be a common vendor that we have used for consumables. Carto's and batteries come to mind.
