I can't wait to get it to ya. I will have another update most likely tomorrow.. it was time to make the new work holder to machine the front face of the boxes, that got done (and it's really a cool looking tool), and got to using it!!! All of my final code that I wrote is working great as I run each new piece,, sooooo, so far so good!!!

I'll be back on tomorrow to post pics and address my pregnant PM box.... but it's been a good week, stuff got done, time to drink sleep and/or watch MERLIN!!!!! (well maybe Fringe, i think i may be in a fringe mood more than a merlin mood....i'll think about it as i wash the shards of aluminum out of my hair..)

Did anyone else besides me get wood?

We can't get wood. The front and back are only available in carbon fiber for now.

Whaooo, Sahil you are going to get me shot.... I never said first of Feb... 103.7% not possible... Mid to Late Feb was and is my official goal. Im' not going to sit on um though... soon as I have some ready... out into the wild they will go in order of umm, order... I will keep you all posted as we go along, but we are right on track. I am neither behind nor ahead of schedule,,, What I AM however, is really happy with how things are going so far and that is what lets me go to sleep at night.

Glad things are on schedule, we are patiently waiting, now wish I had done my prder sooner. LOL

i can help with the crude drawings, this was my first design idea.... things changed.

DD, that is pretty cool, looks like you were able to stay within the size you wanted, the current configuration looks much better. Thanks for sharing this.

Agreed! Those infernal teensy tubes and my old eyes just don't mix well! The current setup doesn't have any parts that require me to use a magnifier!

Billet Birth Jan 19th Update

Well last update the majority of the Billet Boxes guts got all carved out, but they were still attached and needed their face sides machined... Well, the first run of billet boxes were made on temporary jigs that aren't really up to the task of full time production (some will be fine for a while, but not all of um.), the white plastic board below was used to hold the Boxes into position as they go their little faces milled...
OldPallet_zpsf320c30d.jpg

It was a tired little jig, and time to retire (on a plane to florda now(actually, its in the trash can)).. So I had to make a super mega Jig to hold everybody into place... Behold,,, Excali-Jig!!!
NewPallet_zpsa083247b.jpg

Well I forgot to take any pictures of separating the boxes from each other, probably because i was busy separating the boxes from each other. oh well, it was boring anyway. But here you can see the little box still getting ready to go into excali_jig.
First_zps42244358.jpg

ok, so the box goes into the pocket and then gets love tap'd with a little hammer...
third_zps455e1baa.jpg

the little brass hex on Excali-jig, is attached by a cam head screw thingy, when you turn the screw they get locked into place.. neat-O
forth_zps7b6ac050.jpg

keep your arms and legs inside Excali-Jig at all times until the ride has come to a complete stop.
fifth_zpsc97d0e17.jpg

the ride has started..
sixth_zpsf98474de.jpg

...all done
seventh_zpsf4e50d07.jpg

now we let um out of Excali-Jig by unscrewing that screw thingy i was talking about earlier..... that box on the right looks ready to barf... poor little guy.
Free_zps80d8583b.jpg

The main bodies still have two more rounds to go inside Dev. One to cut the air slots into the side, and another to cut the hole in the top where the brass screw goes.. That will be in the next update, but as a side note because it's quick and boring. I would like to make some new jigs for those operations too, but I think I'll wait until later and just use the ones I have as they are still in good shape...
Shiny_zps53a03c21.jpg

Ok, next up are the slide covers..

this is pretty much like the main body, we cut up some stock and drill and tap holes to mount it to the workboard...
DSC09749_zps29fba913.jpg

then stick it all into Dev and let her rip... this was all new code as well so it was pretty exciting for me,, there was one little hick-up in the fist try of the final code that i had to repair, but nothing major.. The first time I wrote all this stuff I was trowing away massive amounts of stuff that got cut wrong.. this time, nothing!!! all good.
SlideCovers_zps8f463b0a.jpg

pretty lines..
DSC09722_zps5403ed21.jpg

the next update will have the second operation of the slide covers... this will be a cool one as I'm building the new jig for that today and will have it finished up tonight... it will used vacuum suction to hold the parts into place.. ZOMG NeAt-O (if it works)

K-all for now... i'ma go make that new jig, got to come up with a good name for this on too...

OH
Just checking in :) Still love my BB! And the carbon fiber dt matches beautifully. It does fit a tad on the loose side, but not enough that it comes out accidentally. I have my extra tank that just sits and taunts me....maybe throw some waffle in tomorrow?

Just remember after filling up your carto/tank, give the tank a few firm presses all over until you stop seeing the bubbles, helps to saturate the carto. I'll do that and then a couple dry hits every now and then and its good to go.

Since its arrival (unnamed so far), I haven't used any of my other PV's. I'm sure I'll play with them sometimes, but this has become my go-to.

Merlin, supernatural and fringe? Knew I came to the right place! But, where's the love for being human??
