About the batts then... would you say or YOU, DD of BB, that perhaps we ought not use the ICRs then? I'm usually running mine with AW IMRs because, welp, because I feel a sense of safer chemisty. Better living thru chemistry, too. ;)

ahh Kat i just don't know!! and it's been very frustrating and embarrassing not to have the answer! I would have to dissect and autopsy someone who had the problems batteries (all of them) to find a possible "cause"... but the affected was less than 1% so it's kinda just a weird thingy... I did find a connection with this happening from two unrelated people that bought batteries from the very same brick and mortar vapor shop, and again with two people who bought them from the same website around the same time, so that would make me think maybe just a batch thing... i would love to think so... Time however, will not tell, as the redesign of the board will stop this cr@p dead in it's tracks...

geez, forgot why i logged on for a sec... k, have a little report..
Silicon balls for the tank are (so far) a bust... We got in a sample from a company who makes um', and for this application these ones just won't work, not one of them will even fit in our tanks ball holder thingy, the dimensional uniformity is a little wild (some are slightly bigger or smaller), not to mention they have a small casting seam that really kinda puts a kink in what we need them to do anyway... We have another batch of samples coming from another place, heck if i know when, and yah, it would be great if it was a drop in replacement, but things don't usually fly that way, we'll see...
on the other hand however, i did fix darthpistachios issue. Today was mill Delrin day and i just did a run with no ball valve...

so you have to fill it like a regular tank, but the upshot is without the ball you'll be darn close to 7ml... i didn't make many of these as i did this just for darth, but.. there'll be some up in the shop round the first of the month..

Any chance the Delrin covers will become available along with matching tank gasket for retrofitting existing ball fill tanks?

Doug, a question: will these new power boards be available as a future upgrade option for V1/V2 Billet Box owners?

Just wondering because while I have plenty of "old" Black AW's now, eventually they's gonna run down and will need replacing ... and if the "new" AW's are the cause, that sounds like a recipe for a dead B-Box down the road.

Options to get the board (for us DIY-types) or send the unit in for an upgrade sounds like a good plan for the future.

Just about any replacement part is just a phone call away, as we will likely never have an "add to cart" option on a stand alone PCB or replacement carbon for the back or right side battery clip (someone lost theirs "really").... but if you need a thing, we can get you a thing.... The old board is a fine piece of electro doobers... hundreds of people just got their BBs a week r' two ago and are happy little beavers doing just fine with their AW ICRs... 1% of them, are sad pandas... And that's what i have been fighting to fix, the 1%... under normal manufacturing circumstances you can expect some fail rate due to components... 1% is nothing i'm told...but it pisses me off....I make every part of the BB so i can take responsibility for it, so I can solve things ASAP... I would have chalked it up to component failure if not for a few people giving me very detailed reports... what i'm getting at is....1%, soon 0.1%, shooting for 0.000%....

but back to DIY'rs, a board transplant is not difficult if you care to do it. Anyone who has an interest will find it really simple. I really expected more people to mod the stock board, i'v actually been a little disappointed no one has posted how to get it to output 7 volts.... sad panda..... ehh, maybe i should do a strip down tutorial when i get a chance... uhhh... time... i want haz....

Vape shop I buy here in aus has the aw protecteds back in stock. So I will grab a pair and do a comparison between them and the cheaper ones I bought off eBay.

i was testing some trustfires (green ones) that someone snagged off ebay, they were 3volts not 3.7's and i was really surprised by um'... most 3 volt cells i have tired will top out round 4.8 because of the discharge cap... these were just fine, fired all the way up to 5.6 and held stable with a coil load... I was told they were dirt cheap too... like 6 bucks for two.....

wow, just looked on ebay,, damn,, lots of new cells i haven't' seen... SOME CLAMING 1800mah??? What the heck?
UKAS844 2 x CR123A 1800mAh 3 7V 16340 GTL Torch Rechargeable Li ion Battery 4016138341980 | eBay

and 1200mah......
UKAD840 4 x CR123A 1200mAh 3 6V 16340 UltraFire Flashlight Rechargeable Battery | eBay

i'm having a hard time believing them numbers for some reason.....
looks like i'm going on a shopping spree.....

There are a ton of them on amazon too. But I ain't buying...don't believe it either. Sticking with AW, Efest and Panasonic.

BTW Doug, what the F, thought you was a vampire like me. You're on in the daytime....back to your dungeon! haha  Used to seeing your posts about 4am my time. Was surprised as hell to be conversing (email and PM) with you and your wife the other night...at 1am or later..haha. And thanks for everything you and your wife do (and helpers if any). Number one cool stuff makers and smiter of the flippers in my book! :)

Those green Trustfire's are protected DD? The green ones in the Ebay link doesn't specify.

Yep, it's easy. Even I could do it. Mine's now a door bell.

I've got some wop in me, sending offer now :)

btw, the no ball thingy sounds like a good idea, especially since the capacity is so large.

I'm Siciliana, RN. DO make me an offer....

Yer the numbers sound seriously huge, bridging on 18650 territory! Haha. Which has to be impossible. But there has to be some cheap solid performers out there.

I'm ashamed to say I don't know much about Italy (I'm only %25) but apparently Sicilians have a problem with my ancestors. One night after finishing my meal at a restaurant I gave the waiter my card and when he came back he acted like I had stolen his sister or something, actually raising his voice to the point where the manager had to come over and make him go to the kitchen
He was passionate, that's for sure. And I thought I had a short fuse.

Sounds like some 1 0 1 racism right there.. Or maybe he thought it was a stolen CC. Did you tip him?
