I really didn't want to drag my toe in this water, but I can't fathom this.

I don't see how claiming to buy a BB from a third party, and then saying I flip it for the same price and 'break even', or even slightly making profit, does anything at all for you..

I mean, beyond looking like a petulant child, what does it accomplish?

BBV has gotten/gets it's money.

Person A buys it B really really really wants one

A flips it B buys it

B may, or may not actually be able to afford the price A set

Alot of people don't have such good judgement

BBV has made its money, as much as they would have anyway - no effect

Person A makes some level of profit off of B who may or may not be able to afford it

This scheme only improves BBV's visibility, and desirability helping BBV obliquely (albeit in a pretty horrendous way).

Then to say that Person B may also be person A and pay less - the same - or more than 699 (where this number came from who knows, but thats just sickening) and then sell it to another person for, little, no, negative 'profit' with the intention of somehow damaging BBV through said sale..

Nonsense. All of those sales, again, while deplorable, only help BBV through exposure, and they already got their profit whatever amount that is. They (BBV) don't create the secondary false economy that hurts people (because at this point that is all you do, hurt people, not BBV), they don't list at this price point, they don't condone it, they don't want it.. and all of that adds up to them looking Aces (because they are) and pushing the want of the devices up up up as a result.

So all you really accomplish by doing any of this is taking someone else's money to their detriment, and making BBV look even better, and better, and better (like the energizer bunny, they just keep going). A lot of people have poor impulse control, 'flipping' a unit and snagging one of these people isn't something to be lauded, or seen as anything other than what it truly is, a dead cold exploitation of a human being for personal gain or greed hurting only one person, that which bought it.

If you disagree, either you are ignorant (self imposed or otherwise), or you are lying through your teeth (seems fairly likely with the given situation, and flip flopping of intent).

Nice looking out for your fellow human being, and setting a good example for ANY child - we should all be those examples.

I guess you have helped illuminate BBV in a way, as stated, so uh thanks for getting interest in them drummed up, and making them more-so popular, so that sometime soon there production will be such that you are obsolete anyway.

I understand that a BB flipper may seem trivial in the grand scheme of things. There are much more important issues in the world that should be addressed. But I believe that no mercy should be shown to those who lack ethics, regardless of the relative importance of the matter at hand.

Perhaps you found it easy to get your BB. But many others have yet to purchase one. Many of us have delayed buying a second BB to give a chance to others to get their first BB.

For flipper clowns to buy these in order to make a buck - that goes against the ethics of this community, and is a personal insult to those who have abided by the wishes of the modder to not have an inflated secondary market for his products, only to have a few bad seeds flout those wishes and compound their crime by lying to us about it.

I would think that, as a resident of Switzerland, you would be familiar with the concept of "clean up your own house, or someone else will clean it for you", considering that your banks are crawling with FBI agents, State Department investigators and IRS agents, who are putting an end to an 800-year practice of providing shelter for the ill-gotten gains of robber barons, thieves, slavers and dictators.

Congrats, my friend! It brings existing owners great joy when someone snags their first BB. xtreme101 keeps apologizing to me every time he calls me to gush about how much he loves his BB with the Diver. What he doesn't know (until now, at least) is how much I enjoy listening to him gush!

This post - your joy in finally getting one - is why we need to become a bit militant at times. Flippers have helped keep a BB out of your hands. We take this personally.

Sometimes, you have to break some flipper eggs to make an omelette.

That's why I said "resident", didn't want you to take it personally.

I think we can agree that, if our persecution of flippers gets a BB in your hands sooner rather than later, and at a reasonable price, it wasn't really time wasted at all.

It isn't wasted time for me, at least.

Also: check my posts for assistance in snagging a BB. With the low production these last few weeks, it is more difficult, but that should change soon, as the new production facility comes online.
