And of course, right now they've got the wrong dolphins engraved in 'em.

Now, make one that has Submarine Warfare insignia (a.k.a. "Dolphins") engraved either inside or out:

Silver_Dolphins.jpg

It's the right dolphin, it's FLIPPER the dolphin....

i was up in the air about doing it actually,,,, ehh, too late now...

but yes, yes those are WAY better fish monsters... if i end up doing this again, i will change it.

anywhooo... i'll keep progress on um update here, but i'm not going to let them get in the way of regular type BB production.

This brass project is, i feel, may just help a bit, becasue i am bound and determined NOT to care what happens with it.... It's not the product that i worked hard to make at fair price, and keep a fair price, the standard BB is. This isn't really much effort on my part to help limit it being taken advantage of becasue it's a fair price. If someone has the cash, i'd much rather them get something for it, and i won't feel the slightest bit bad about how much it costs becasue i already wrote the check for the raw stock, i know where that money went... The brass is just a luxury, just super expensive material... that's the only way i could feel good about selling something like this... we have never taken more than our asking price on a BB, and we have had e-mail offering bunches... we just don't work that way... in any other scenario i wouldn't even consider this brass run... it's just not economical... just wouldn't happen... but that's were we're at,,, we'll see......i'm not super fussed about it one way or the other... but if it becomes a major pain in the ... with something unforeseen,,,,i'll cut the cord... but so far so good...

I also see your point. Make the brass for the more money than sense crowd can buy as they are already paying stupid money. Hoping this will out price what the flippers will invest and bringing their clients back to you. So then they cannot flip, get stuck with stock and start seeing the well is dry. Bold but fun move and now my head hurts from thinking....

Forgot to add. Shouldn't the dolphin have a circle around him with a line going through it?

ha, i did think about it but had already spent enough time coding that little dolphin... also though about a harpoon, but feared letters from peta...

I am noticing the DD avatar looking very much slimmer. So are congrats in order now?

not quite yet, just had to change it cuz halloween was over... little thing better get out of there soon though, wife lady is looking pretty much out of room to move around in...

Doug Dine - can I reserve a brass one?

HA, you should see my PM box... ohh god... i'm in deep shít...., i REALLLY don't know how this will play out yet, brass is tricky in this large of block milling, things bigger than a matchbook are typically cast.. not only because of cost but due to maintaining geometric tolerance.. machining from solid chucks is superior in strength, structure, and will yield a flawless finishing potential.... but this REALLY has some chance of failure... so we just have to see if i can do it first.

one word of warning though,,, if this works out ok, these will be ... heavy! Like bordering on being a full blown weapon.

I hate to bring the battery subject up again but wanted to see if folks are still finding the original black and silver batteries fitting, performing the best. Was going to order some from lighthound to have on hand once I can get my f5 fingers on a Billet box again, but wanted to make sure before I did. That is what I used on my BB I got in the 2nd round pre order before I regrettably let her go, but was not sure if they were still the best performers. If not can you post a link to what is.
Thanks!

Good morning BB Land!

What? No lil' Baby DD yet? I keep checking here to see if CONGRATS are in order! ;-)

Meanwhile ... I was "playing" this morning ... And I just discovered that my cute little Red Sky Mods desk/coffee table stand fits my BB PERFECTLY! Woot! Just thought I'd post a pic and link for others that might be interested! Looks snazzy! :D

I don't understand how the Billet Box VV circuit works. The batteries are stacked - I figured it was like the notcigs VV circuit, where the batteries combined equal ~7 volts, and then the excess voltage is dropped in the form of heat to get to the correct voltage (I might be making stuff up here).

But that would mean that the Billet Box with two 750 mah batteries still only has 750 mah. However, the BB with 750 mah lasts me more than 24 hours, where the Provari with a single 700mah AW IMR 18350 only lasts me about 12 hours.

How does that work? Not complaining, I'm just genuinely curious as to how it works.

That's OK. I have a dual-18650-in-series mod that's dang near a police baton. Been thinking a D-ring holster is about the only way to carry and wondering if I could work up a taser add-on for it.

So while you're at it, just build a set of knucks into that Brass bad boy. Then you can call it the Beat Box.

Of course, that'll pretty much ensure it can't be sold to Cali, but still. . . .
