Shipping notice received! It's been quite a while since I've gone into stalking mode, but I'm stalking now!
I've had my BB for 2 months now, but haven't been showing it much love recently because of the high crap rate of the cartos, and the inferior taste (to my atomizers). Got my Diver v2 in the mail Thursday. Couldn't wait to try it, so I used the stock silica/wire/ceramic. Let's just say that, after vaping through the silica taste, it has not left my hand. I can't wait to try this baby with a microcoil and cotton wick.

You will not return from the micro coil with cotton (or hemp fiber...not rope...blah). I started turning all my brand new unpunched cartos into spare Condor parts. Still have a few slotted and prepunch cartos that haven't seen the light of day in while (emergency supplies...just in case of zombie outbreaks and the such).
Just FYI, not sure how well they will fit in the Diver, but I have started making my micro coils with a 4-40 machine bolt. Saw a video on youtube and they work out great. I wrap them on the threads, unscrew the coil, pre-oxidize the coil with a lighter, clamp down in tweezers or hemostats and torch the hell out of them. Makes a perfect coil every time with lots of air space in the center (I mount my coils vertical). Anyway, just FYI for those interested.
I've messed with cotton, still have a few drippers with cotton but it's not my favorite. Some properly treated XC-116 is awfully hard to beat in my book, and never any chance of burning it. The only setback is the pre-heat-treated stuff is silly expensive, and treating it myself with a torch takes forfreakingever. But to me it's worth the effort.
Been playing with one of the new brass rings for a couple of weeks now.
It is probably a step in the right direction, and I like it, but I'm not sure it's the fix we're looking for. At least the one I'm looking for ... my tanks still leak or condense (or something) behind the tank, so it still gets suctioned in there from time to time. So no real change for me. Also, because the new o-ring section extends lower and into the cartomizer/Diver/andsuchnot, it pretty much has to be completely removed in order to remove the tank. Not a big deal, just different. Personally I'm calling it a draw, for now.
I've also been fortunate enough to play around with another modification or two. So, what do you think ... Just right, or too guady?

Yep, you are preaching to the converted regarding the microcoil & cotton.
A 4-40 machine bolt? Interesting...but that's a pretty big diameter, yes? I guess if you are running it vertically, it's not so big...wick on the outside not the inside?

I might try that on a smaller diameter bolt for my coils...the Diver uses ceramic cups & NR-R-NR wire, so I would think a vertical might be a bit tedious for that...as if a horizontal coil in a ceramic cup is not tedious

I haven't pulled out my Diver in a long while, but will have to see if it may fit. A smaller diameter bolt will work fine, just might be harder to wrap depending on the gauge wire your using.

Just a thought for all of those who managed to get a BB via any kind of web page change monitoring:
Some of those site/page change monitors are pretty conservative in the additional "traffic" for the monitored page, but others are not.
So, if you got your BB, but your monitor is still running, please consider disabling that monitoring ... at least until the next time you are inside the 8-week window and looking to buy. It might not have much affect but I'm sure having dozens or hundreds (if not thousands) of such monitors going all the time can't be helping the others who are still wanting and able to buy.
