Quick teaser pic of the dna 30. Lot of finishing work to go, doing brushed exterior and polishing screen and button bevel to accent. Not perfect, but hey, I am just using a dremel and hand files.

Sorry DD, if you ever read this. Not appropriate for a vendor forum, but it is just homemade and not a competitor. Besides, nobody can compete with the BB!

Right, they sure are. I was just kat-kurious what you thought of them. I think they have their place, but doubtful that place will ultimately be in the B Box. Having said that, I'll be experimenting with them.... one of these good ol' daze. ;)

They are interesting, and if they come out with a standard size, I'll give one a go - but after so many years of smoking - I see/taste no downside to cartos, and like you, I just enjoy the ease of use - which is of course why I had to get my BB - it suits me just fine thank you :)

I'm happy to report that after following DD suggestions my BB is back up and running!
It appears all of my failed attempts at diver v2 coils (leakers) took it's toll on the board. juice got in the dry side and wreaked havoc.

Oh and the tape trick is working!!! Ahhh I was using a new coil off and on that would dry up and then flood. Put tape over the fill ball and a min or two later she's feeding perfectly!
Thanks kat and drunk for this awesome tip!!!!!

But DD talked me into a billet bridge so that's on it's way from Greece. No he didn't but that's my story and I'm sticking to it :p

Excellent news, Mike!

And I'm kool with kartos, along with Peter & Kat, so the build-up/out thing wouldn't be for me. From my perspective, the fully-contained design is the very thing that draws me to the BB, when on-the-move. I have other box mods that I also use daily, for sit-downs.

That being said though, it's literally impossible to not admire the workmanship presented previously by Vapian and Drunk_J (and others I may have missed). My guess is that if I were able to pull something like that off, without blowing up my domain, I might be inclined to do the same.

And DJ, I'm loving that "30". Nice work.

Hey Dan, that is exactly like the Condor build. We have an entire thread and all the changes it has gone through. Sorry on phone typing or I would put a link. The design is fantastic and vapes beautiful. Also the coolness of being able to use standard pro tank heads. The only major flaw is that a lot of condensation builds in the upper tube and has no path back to the cotton. Big screen D and I are looking at removing the top pro tank head chimney and soldering the connector straight to upper tube. Also drilling out the head cap bigger. Thus would allow liquids a path back down. Also using 510 to 510 adapters on the bottom threading that are drilled to accept the pro tank bottom. That way it can also be used in a standard tank.

Anyway, if you ever want to discuss it, pm me your number and I can call. It is an awesome design.

The main reason I left the 9mm x 26mm tube with the 4mm hole in it, was so the kanger head would slip fit into it and the condensation would run back down the tube to the coil and wick. Opening up the top to 8mm would cause a condensation well that juice would pool in. A straight 4mm hole allows the condensation to run back in. Good find on the ARO heads, but would they accept the kanger top? The kanger top tube allows for two things, electrical connection, and sealing the air path from the juice. I do like the 510 to 510 adapter, but with the cut 7mm piece I made air flow is wide open, how is the air flow with the 510 to 510 adapter stiff or airy?

Yes but the ARO's don't have the the tube top like the kangers which allows for electrical connection and condensation to flow back to the coil if it is slip fit into a 4mm ID tube. Do the Kangers top, fit the ARO's bottom?

Correction, there are a couple styles of the ARO, the one I looked at did not have the top tube extension. I found the link posted in the EVOD thread and it looks like those would be perfect.

OK, got on a real computer...haha...nothing like typing on a dam phone. Here are a couple of pics of the latest version condor. Haha, your post has me wanting to go right now and cut down an ARO head to do the experiment I was talking about. I still like the Condor vape better than the Diver V2 and way less fiddling.

Cool will have a look.
One thing I like is I can rebuild this indefinably, I have actually used this for about a week and a half. Condensation has never been an issue, and it has never leaked unlike numerous cartos I have tried.

The tape trick is all Mr. Drunkaholic. K at Atmistique has been harping that it is a tank seal issue for months, Drunk_J figured out how to eliminate that possibility and test the results. I flayed around my pom poms and cheered him on.

I love that, even with all the carto RBAs out in the market, we still have folks building and improving their own.

I LOVE THIS HOBBY.

Me too, I think I have the perfect inexpensive setup coming :) That will increase the tank space for more juice and remove the leaking and vapor condensation problem. Here is a quick mock up:

BBCartoConcept_zpsbf4a1ade.jpg

Will have to make one now LOL, the top piece I should be able to get made for about 5 bucks a piece out of 316 SS. The bottom piece is just a 510 to 510 adapter Big D and DJ have been playing with. Great idea. The head is a ARO coil head, I got 5 packs coming.
Will be on the lathe tonight :)

Sorry, been tied up all morning. Anyway, I found an easy solution on the last style condor I made. The upper ARO head was soldered straight to an old gutted carto for the top. Anyway, I just drilled it to the same diameter as the inside of the cup on the upper head. That completely took off the chimney sticking in the upper tube. Then I just used a larger drill on the inside to chamfer the hole back into the ARO. Bingo. Completely drains back down now.

Now, I have to take a few minutes to look at all your posts and drawings.....some cool stuff there. In a bit of a fog today, so bare with me.

Oh yeah, what do you need me to stick a caliper on? Got an ARO head and a caliper in hand...haha. (kinda sounded dirty?)

The chimney section of the ARO head is 4.1mm.

Maybe we should move the rest of this conversation back to that other thread so we don't bore everyone else to death with our mechanical geekiness.

I, for one, would love to see a pic of you with your pom poms. Do you have the little pleated skirt also?
