actually battery life of two 16340s isnt too bad, but 2 18350s would be much better. an 18650 version would literally be like carrying around a brick size wise. Depending on your vaping style, you should be able to get at least 4-6 hours I would imagine.

Volume-wise an 18650 is only about 20% larger than two 16340s. If you laid the billet out different (18650 vertical with the dial under the tank) it would not add much size at all. Problem is you need a different chip (boost) to run a VV off of just one battery so its more than just shuffling the pieces around.

personally i'd ditch cylindrical batteries and look for a common/cheap replacement smartphone cell.... just have to be diligent and look at amp/draw ratings and such.

i think in terms of allowing thinner or more room to modify the form factor. a phone, cell battery is a fantastic idea.

Good idea yes - but not practical in my book - part of the huge appeal of this mod for me is the fact that I can easily swap out batteries for fully charged ones easy as...

Now were it a slimline cellphone battery it would either be hard soldered in meaning when it's flat I can't do sod all with it until it is recharged - or it's going to have a replace-ability factor which means I need spare cellphone batteries and a dedicated charger.

which is essentially right where I am with ordinary cells right now - so - good idea in theory but current set-up is probably best I think :)

A. They'd be installed under the cover, and swapped as easily (easier actually) as a cell phone battery.
B. At 3200-3500mah, you'd need maybe 2 at ~$6 each.. i'm talking a couple days vs 4-6 hours battery life.
C. The mod could be even slimmer than it is now. And carrying a spare battery would be much more convenient than carrying 4-6 16340's
D. Unit would weigh less

I understand all of your concerns, and I'm sure there are box mods already doing this (though I haven't seen any), Would be a good place to start looking if it was seriously considered.

The MAH isn't really the issue I think - It would be the fact that these mobile form factor batteries only give out 3.7 volts when fully charged

Lion about 3.6V - 3.7V
NIMH about 3.2V (that rules them out)
LiPo 3.6V - 3.7V

you would realistically need something that can charge to at least 4.2 - 4.3 volts to give anywhere near long term use. They can of course be fast charged and that could be handy

And as theoretically with a 1.5ohm coil and 3.7 volts you would need a battery capable of chucking out at least 2.5 Amps of current you're gonna be hard pressed to find one that can consistently chuck out that kind of current without going flat pretty fast... most atomisers become poor performers when batt voltage gets to about 3.3v so you're gonna be working with a window of just 0.4V.

Now if these batteries could deliver 4.3 V or more with a full charge - that would be a different story -- you would have to stack them to get efficient operation I think and that is what the Itaste does in it's MVP - but the drawback is that they are then hard soldered in and not easily replaceable..

essentially if you are happy with a few hours operation and then swap out the batteries yeah it would be cool to have a thinner mod - but if you want it to last any good length of time- then standard cell size batts are probably best.

Personally, I wouldn't want a Li-ion battery anywhere near my face. I'm quite happy with my AW IMR's, and it's really no trouble carrying 2-4 of them with me.

ditto, i'm used to it, my regular pv is a kicked reo, so i carry a battery or two extra. if it's a relatively new battery, it last all day, but always good to have some spares. i don't think i could not carry an extra battery no matter what pv i have. same thing as the bottle of juice thats over 8 months old thats in my glove compartment, just a precaution.
