I don't have a problem with the cost, just thinking they were 880MAH Protected vs. 750MAH or lower like some of the others. I live in fear of running out of battery when I'm out and about. I usually carry one with me but that one time I forget......

Where is 880's batteries? I want them lol
Only found 750's.

Fully recognizing that I'm not a moderator nor owner of the thread and will probably regret this, I'll just leave this here:

<soapbox>

I think a lot of folks would appreciate it if contentious personal discussions could be moved to PM or somewhere else.

While it's a free country/forum/Internet/whatever and maybe not everyone sees it this way, it is not very respectful to Doug Dino (and everyone else here) to drag out a who-gets-the-last-word contest that does not contribute to the community of all the current and soon-to-be Billet Box owners looking for nothing more than to share information and a common enthusiasm.

No judgement, just an observation.

</soapbox>

ur right, i'll get my lol's elsewhere, my bad, shoulda ignored from the get

Just as some food for thought, here are some general numbers on expected battery life based on my current setup. I'm using a Boge-F16 LR carto (1.7ohm) in a tank and vaping at 8 watts and I get approx. 12 hrs out of a 2250mAh 18650 battery. Using an mAh battery life calculator, that comes out to about 43 min of battery life (if you could actually drain it that far) but I'll use it as my 100% mark. So 100% = 12hrs vape time and 43 min battery life.

(2) - 750 mAh batteries would be 1500mAh (in series) Yes?? This would get me 29 min or 67% or in my case, about 8 hrs. Not bad but I'll have to double up on batteries at home and at work to keep my voltage addiction alive provided I can actually get a Billet Box. :)

On a separate note, anyone live in So.Cal who's getting one of the pre-orders? Maybe you could PM your address and expected delivery time and I could pop over for a ahhhh...."visit", ya, I'll visit with you just to ahhh... check it out.:drool:

My buddy already has one. We might be heading to Vape Revolution on Saturday if you wanted to pop by and see it.

Nope. Running them in series increases voltage, not amperage. If you run SR cartos (~2.8ohm) in the BB, though, you can get the same 8W performance at around 4.7V, thus drawing lower current and making your batteries last a bit longer.

In a parallel circuit
Two 16340 3.7v batteries with 750mAh each produce a circuit with 3.7v and 1500mAh

In a series circuit
Two 16340 3.7v batteries with 750mAh each produce a circuit with 7.4v and 750mAh

The energy of either example mentioned above is 5500 mWh (milliwatt hours)
3.7 x 1500 = 5500
or
7.4 x 750 = 5550

Now apply this formula to an 18650 3.7v battery rated at 2250mAh
3.7 x 2250 = 8325

So technically, the 18650 should provide more power. Now I'm not an engineer, but the numbers look pretty solid to me. Logically, we have to assume that wattage or voltage setting and the type of boost circuit used on the device will definitely have an effect on battery life as well. And of course the resistance and temperature will too.

K, just a lil' post befor i get back at it.... I know I haven't gotten round to showing all the stuff in the Billet Birthing updates yet (like dials, and brass rings and such), but i have a small stock pile of some of these parts so i'm just gonna eat um up first. As of now, i am in assembly mode. Fit buttons and springs, de-burr any icky poos, yell at polishing monkey if he left a scratch, test the voltage range, seal the inner cover, add the stainless steel fasteners, oil the slides, ect, ....and before i give each one a last hand polish and attach the carbon, I put in my test tank, push the button, and make sure vapor comes out.

So far, vapor comes out!

Damn, the wait to snag one of these is getting harder.... Just looks like the perfect PV to me, and once i am able to get my hands on one it will probably one of the two pvs i use regularly for a good long time. Those of you with preorders coming soon are lucky SOBs, but i will have mine asap.

Dude you have no idea how lucky I am. I was just casually checking out his website on 4 Jan and decided to place an order not even considering that pre-orders would end soon. Pre-orders ended on 4 Jan!! I must be #200.

On the other hand, after being jboxed, I am happy to take that bit of good luck that allowed me to get on the BB list.

How do i make one of those smiley face things that claps? Nicely explained. And a big yes, about other factors. The Biggest factor being, some batteries just suck, and some are magic (same brand, same everything) it just happens, heck if i know ... The Billet Box is more efficient in its upper voltage range, closer to the native voltage, i did some math on this and wrote it on paper.... somewhere...
