Salutations new BB brethren and sistren! Gratzzz to the lucky and I truly hope the wait won't be long for those that didn't snag one today, my only consultation is that the wait will be well worth it.

A club?....NGBBVC....GBBC....GBBVC....GBBOA....MBC....it does seem odd to have an apparently large percentage of BB thread members reside in such close proximity here in North Georgia, UK also seems to have an apparently skewed vaping population. It completely baffles me, but Upper Kentucky just does seem to me the place one would find such huge numbers of vapers. The numbers seem to be more in line with a small country!

I truly wish I could-Atm I do not have any CNC equipment to duplicate that. It -and the whole build was truly a "labor of love" all my equipment is suited for stuff about 1000x larger than BB.

I could however, send you a blank of some .080 luminatum if you want to whittle on it fer your BB. I hate to mention it -I'm thinking he may be a bit busy now-but DD could mill that little jewel out pronto, I'm sure after the dust settles a bit mby...

Thanks for the reply, I thought maybe you used a milling machine or a water jet, nice work btw. I do have a couple of machine shops near my work in queens so ill see if I can maybe bring in the stock plate and bb and have one duplicated to cover the whole face of the bb, then ill just carve out the holes :)

Regarding electrical tape flappy-thingies, the door fits so closely with the black AWs that I've noticed it rotating the batteries as it moves over them. I imagine it would still close, but I'm not sure the flaps would remain in the proper position.

Also, Vapian: Might be worth adding that the corner of the back plate also works quite well for snugging up the brass ring. And possibly the drip tip/filler tip trick for protecting the tank o-rings during carto insertion.

And congrats to all the new recruits! And if you've not got one yet, know that it will happen and it is very much worth the wait. :D

Awesome job Vapian. As for the batteries, me being an old Reo man myself a while back. I tried electrical tape, to tight, then scotch tape, tight but worked. Then once I saw DD's recommended method, a quick whack in the palm works best.

According to some of my lineman, there's a guy with a shop in college pt that makes his own mechanical mods... He was showing them off to the guys replacing the pole in front of his place... Ill look him up when I get a DNA 20

BATTERY QUESTIONS

Q. What kind of batteries does The Billet Box use?
A. The Billet Box is designed to use 3.7 volt, AW IMR 16340 (Red) or AW ICR 16340 (Black), button-top batteries.

Q. How long do the batteries last in the Billet Box?
A. Short answer: until they die. Long answer: Most users report anywhere from 1/2 to a full day of vaping with a freshly charged pair of 16340 batteries and a 3.0 ohm cartomizer. Depending on your cartomizer resistance and how you vape, YMMV.

Q. Can I use other brands or types of battery?
A. The Billet Box battery compartment is very specifically designed for AW IMR/ICR batteries and has very tight tolerances. However, any 16340 or RCR123A battery that is no longer than 34.2mm (including the button) or larger than 16.6mm in diameter should fit.

Q. Aren't RCR123A batteries lower voltage than 16340's?
A. Observant little bugger, aren't you? Yes, RCR123A batteries are 3.0 volt batteries. The Billet Box will work with them but the upper voltage range will be limited to 4.8 volts (no matter how much higher you turn the dial). They can be used "in a pinch" but probably should not be used as your primary batteries.

That is very good info, thanks! One question though. If the black RCR123 batteries is what was recommended why would they be recommended over the red, if they cannot utilize the full voltage of the device?
I got the black ones which are recommended on the website and here so just curious?

On the other hand I can't wait for it to arrive next week!!!!

The black 16340s, also labled as ICR 123 are recommended, and let you utilize the full voltage range. the RCR123A batteries are the lower voltage ones. If you got the recommended ones, you'll have access to the full voltage range.

They're protected cells. The red ones are safe chemistry and don't need protection but allow you to pull a higher amperage without having any issues. Both will work fine though.

I can't recall where, but I saw a test that pitted the black and red ones together under the same amperage draw and they lasted pretty much the same amount of time, no problems in either regarding heat or anything.

Both should be fine though.

Gotcha. I got the IC123. So makes me feel better :). I saw 123 and did not think to look at the letters.
Thanks!

Doug......could you please reconsider a pre order for the next batch? This was an Entire day of refreshing a screen.....with zero to show for it, for a great many people.....with a one minute sellout. I am happy that many people were successful, but if the next sale is set up similar to this, it seems utterly chaotic, and gut wrenching for so many. Then again, perhaps there is no "good" way of doing this. Any thoughts are appreciated.
I have given this ALoT, of thought. You should see our sites e-mail box, really, as many e-mails a day as this thread has pages. The best thing i could think of is to get more CNC machines and more people.... and that is coming alone pretty good so far. i am really sorry this is a hassle, i don't want this situation for anyone, but i did call it.... i knew it was coming, so i am, and have been, gearing up. There is only really one solution, and that is make more.... soon BBs will be a free prize in cereal boxes, you'll open your car door and 5 will fall out and you won't even pick um up.... (well, maybe not)

I'd say you and your crew are doing a bang-up job handling the pressure of us frothing at the mouth for them. Thanks for hanging in there and providing a product that's deserving of such high praise. :)
