Why are some juices so dark?

Even if the flavorings were dark, they usually account for no more than 25% of a mixture.
That wouldn't seem to be enough to make a juice dark brown.

Are juice mixers adding color because they think we want it?
Or are the flavorings really that dark sometimes?

I have never done DIY, so please excuse what may be a stupid question with an obvious answer...

All I know is, I don't want any added color in my juices.
And I would prefer if they were all as colorless as they could be.

And I find it hard to believe that anyone might feel otherwise.

Some flavors such as coffee, tobacco etc. extracts make the juice change color naturally, I highly doubt vendors are adding extra coloring. Also, if juices are pre-bottled, they age/steep and the flavors and coloring are brought out which can be really yummy. Other commons extracts that can alter the color are orange flavors and vanillas-those can turn juices red or darker colored...it's just something that happens naturally when mixed with the other ingredients.

No worries...Vape on! :D

This song came to mind when I saw your thread title lol..

LOL! Man, you just took me back to the day! I used to LOVE that song. Thanks!

Regarding liquid colors- yes, it's natural for some colors. I DIY and noticed that an Orange Cream flavor concentrate is clear in it's bottle but when I mix it with my PG and VG it gives a slight orange tinge as it soaks in.

There are a lot of flavorings that are dark in color. it takes very little flavoring that is darker in color to turn an entire mixturer from clear to a darker color. There is also not only a different taste but sometimes a different color between the same named flavor between two different flavor companies flavoring. Example being TFA Strawberry flavoring is clear and Loranns Strawberry is red. Nicotine turns a darker color as it ages even though the nic is still perfectly fine. Light and heat also add to turning our juices a darker color. In other words, there is a lot going on that often affects the color of our juice.

Its often amazes me when I order both 0 mg and 6 mg juice from the same vendor on the same order the difference in color I find between the same juice.

And no I dont think any vendor is adding any coloring to our juice thinking that we prefer our juice a darker color.

I prefer as little color as possible in the juice that I vape as you do DC2 but I do make exceptions for a few juices that are darker in color that I really enjoy.

Some flavorings are more concentrated or darker than others and even a very small percentage added will totally darken the mix. I hardly ever go over 10% and usually not even close to that on my flavoring. Even at that rate some flavorings will make the ending mixture very dark.

Lighter choices can sometimes be found if you really want a certain flavor. I've been using Flavorart Espresso which is a good coffee vape, pretty light and easy on cartos. There are vendors that mix with it if you don't want to DIY, just have to ask around.
