Chart seems about right to me... I have two Orbtronics high drain 18650s that are in continual usage(meaning they are in a mod every day) That are over a year old and still my best hitters.

(PS anyone else decorate their batts so you can tell them apart? mine get nail polish polka dots lol)

I'm a bit low on nail polish, so i use masking tape ;)

Some of us are just naturally cheap. :D So now tell me, where can I find the best 18500 battery

I mostly use 18650s but I also have a couple of 18490s and 18350s. When I was looking for the two smaller sizes, I ended up getting AW's. I felt they were the best deal and the best performers in those sizes. For 18650s, there are a number of very good ones to chose from. My opinion only, and as always YMMV :)

I think this had to do with the fact that the IMR version was noticeably shorter than the ICR version, hence the different designation to further distinguish it from its predecessor. I think AW might be the only one that uses the 490 designation anyway, all the other brands I've seen have continued to use 18500 instead (which are all so widely varying in actual length that it kinda makes any different nomenclature between them a moot point)

All too true. Especially in the bad old days of protected batteries where "standardized length" was merely a loose suggestion, at best.
