Good Morning! :)

This is one of my two Reo Grand.
I have decided to sacrifice this Reo to do my experiment: put a DNA20 inside the Reo.
I thought it was a good idea but I was not sure of the result.

The dremel as a single instrument, an old dna 20 to take measurements and will be the way to digging to make the most of the limited space available inside the Reo Grand.

Measures are taken, fit perfect! :)

Now the faithful friend dremel prepares the space to accommodate the display next to the bottle:

Got it! This was perhaps the most delicate operation ...

Now the part that amused me: where I put the keys to the activation and regulation of the circuit? Here is the solution I propose: hide the switches behind the carter:

Et Voilà: the adjustment is made by turning the key of the Reo to the right to increase the Wattage and to the left to decrease, the activation is normally done by pressing the key down.

This short video illustrates how the adjustment of the Wattage takes place:

With a little patience and luck, everything works very well and and my Reo has a new life.

I apologize for my poor English, and I wish you happy vaping! :)

Im always impressed with the passion and skills to do things like this. Anything close to that on my part are long gone with my youth. These days all I want to do is open the box whatever I bought and just use it.

Always fascinating to see all the modifications...keep it up folks. :)

If I tried to do that... it would be instant destruction of my Reo haha.

thanks to all for the appreciation :)

I have the hobby of model and when I have free time, I like doing this kind of work; when I can, I'm happy to propose them, but I can't deny that my main PV is a nice Reo mini 2.1, pure mechanical, exactly how it came from the Rob's hands [emoji106]

Congratulations my friend.
I'm glad you decided to write a post about your wonderful work also in this forum:).

As I 've written several times on my italian forum, Yerakon ( besides being, like me, a true Reos lover:laugh:) is also one of the most talented and creative amateur modder that I've ever encountered in many years of vaping.
With this work, he was able to put the DNA chip in a Grand without altering its lines and the external structure, thus preserving the integrity and beauty of the original Rob's work and realizing that which is , currently, the bottom feeder with DNA20/30 more compact and dimensionally optimized that I know.

By the way: Yerakon's name is Roberto, or Rob for friends .... and I think that this name already sounds familiar and pleasing for all of us:laugh:

wow very nice job. I love the up/down adjustment, I thought of trying something similar but with a variable pot, never thought of your idea, that's very cool

if I may make a suggestion, the dna is very sensitive to getting wet with any juice at all, where you have this it's only a matter of time before a little juice kills your display. it doesn't take much and it's inevitable in a setup like this, if I might suggest that you waterproof it before it does get damaged. I've killed a few dnas already so now I waterproof them and since haven't had any problems, I wash mine in the sink all the time now, with a chip in a bf I'd def say this is a good idea, and with where yours is I'd say it's pretty much necessary. check this out

there are several ways to waterproof this, everything from sprays to brush on coatings. I used liquid electrical tape and it works great, it brushes on like a liquid but dries to form a plastic coating, a few coats and it's fully waterproof... I used an acrylic clear coat to seal up the display... the buttons are really not waterproof but they do survive an occasional dunking and if the switches ever do go bad it's an easy thing to change, swapping out dead dna modules is not fun though :)

(...) if I may make a suggestion,(...)
Thanks a lot, never advice would be most appreciated! I was very worried about the liquid that could damage the circuit.
Thank you so much, turbocad6, I will certainly follow your suggestion. Now I proceeded to buy a bottle of spray indicated to isolate circuits. ASAP I hope I can make my Reo enough juice-resistant! :)

Very clean work! Now I want one.

Thanks! :)

The nice thing would be to convince Rob to produce a Reo with a new circuit (eg the DNA or other). I saw that the RGVV is no longer in the list, which was and is one of the best electronic devices for the BF.
I had to arrange a "Reo Grand" with a circuit, but I think if a electronic Reo came from Reosmods, it would be much better as features and engineering.

Maybe Rob is already thinking about a new realization. Let's cheer! :)
