hey guys! i have a couple of mods to show off here hehe. the first is my usb passthru. it runs straight off of my front usb on my pc. no batteries or anything like that. i used a momentary switch from an old xbox controller to activate the atty and some 2 part epoxy putty to make a sort of "holder" for the switch. i then followed up with some thick shrink tubing to kinda make it pretty. this thing makes CLOUDS of vapor! my front usb's make 5v with no load and the stock volcano attys really pump at 5v as you can see from my new avatar lol.
the second mod i have to show off here is my pride and joy. i still havnt got to try it out as i'm without a battery to power it at the moment. as soon as i have the money ill have to order some 14500 high drain batts to sport this bad boy. the atty connector was salvaged from an old volcano battery, and will support 510 attys as im told. it also has a recessed momentary switch from the same xbox controller. the atty connector is pressed into the threaded brass endcap so it will NEVER come loose. i dont think i could get it out of there if i wanted to. i designed it to hold an AA size battery which is the same size as a 14500 if im not mistaken. the LED was salvaged from an old charger i had here. its all held together with 2 part epoxy and "should" be tough as nails. i wont reveal what the actual case was made from unless someone guesses correctly lol. heres a hint. im a musician as well so many of my "parts" are related to that.
feedback is appreciated guys! let me know what u think, and what i could do better! also as a side note, if anyone has some 14500 batts that they dont need perhaps we could make a trade. i have all kinds of stuff layin around here lol.
