ProVape got back to my note to them quite fast today, and a plan was formed. Unfortunately it's time for me to send a package to them instead of receiving one from them.

The new Home Pass-Thru Kit and the accessories I bought for it are going back to ProVape. The pass-thru is intermittantly having high temperature issues. The accessories are either not user friendly or are poorly designed/made so have not been used.

I'm sending the pass-thru back for repair or replacement. I still hope to have one for my ProVari's that works like advertised. It's real handy next to the recliner. The accessories are going back for a refund on them.

I've started to deal with their RMA Portal to start the process...

All a RPITA, but it appears they are going to stand behind their products. Time will tell...

Actually the design just mimics all my other 808/510 pass-thru's, makes the ProVari a "battery" on the end of a power cord. When this one is installed in a ProVari with the power cord only attached it is quite comfortable to use in hand. But with the poorly designed Pass-Thru Blox that doesn't work without the elbow that is not user friendly, you have to just lay the Provari down on its side. I'd rather have the cord coming off the end of the ProVari like this than out at a 90 degree angle myself. If I had it to do again I'd by the Blox designed to lay a device on instead of the one I did though.

Somewhat all moot points for me now. ProVape has been very fast to respond and very accomodating... they have authorized my retuning everything. I am requesting the repair or replacement of the pass-thru itself because I still want one if I can get one that works as advertised. It is very handy to have next to my recliner were I spend so many hours reading, etc, so well worth the $78 to me to not have to deal with batts. Everything else is slatted to be returned for refund. But I will try to change that to trading the pass-thru Blox for the one you lay them down on, and use the rest as store credit instead of a refund. There ought to be something I can use/have them add to the box the pass-thru comes back in instead of a refund.

Spydo you are the first person I have heard of that had bought one of these, and have read your comments about it several times. I was always considering getting one of those myself, but there have always been something else I have wanted more, but it would make sense for me to have a few of these myself, for like right now at my desk, I could be saving my batteries. So I hope your issues with this get worked out.

KAS... I'm sure ProVape will make it right.

I spend so many hours a day at my desk/on the computer (sometimes for 30-40 hours straight) that I have two USB pass-thru's already on my computer. Months ago I bought a fancy smancy 7 port USB hub just to add them and other gadgets. One is a KR808 (Halo) for their mini tanks I have a couple of dozen of, the other a VV 510 I was using any of the Kanger toppers (EVOD's, PT1's and II, Mini T3's), Trident's and other atty's on instead of eating batts in the VV/VW and mech mods. They do save a lot of changing/recharging batts, and it only takes a few seconds to change toppers (I keep several filled and ready to vape on hand). Once you have a pass-thru that works well you won't want to be without one (or 3).

$5.58 Variable Voltage USB Passthrough for E-Cigarette at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
Alright, you guys made me want a passthrough for when I'm driving. I've added this to my FastTech wish list (shopping cart).

I just don't really understand the attraction of the ProVari's passthrough. If I was a long haul trucker or worked in some other job the required me to be on the go constantly, I could see the need. Changing out the batteries on the ProVari once every day or two isn't that big of a deal to me. :)

On the other hand, I seem to have almost all of the other "unnecessary" ProVari accessories.

Probably just a state of mind Plan... when you get what you soon realize is the best of somethng, you tend to want nothing but the best for it. So is the ProVape pass-thru is worth $80? That's like asking me if the ProVari is worth what they cost... or if the high end toppers and other gear I've bought just for the ProVari's are worth what they cost. They are to me. :)

My 510 USB pass-thru is similar to the one from HalfasTech and is VV, but it's ribbon cord is on a light weight automatic reel. You pull until however much cord you want comes out and it locks there, then a tug and it reels it all back in. Cost me $10 from a US vendor.
