I have a 501 and Silver Bullet in the mail as of today and want to try the drip method with both. From the videos I have watched, about 3 drops are applied to the atomizer. Then maybe 1 drop after a few hits. Is this correct...or is it more trial and error and having a feel for the unit you are using?

Thanks

IMHO every atomizer I've tried is different. You just drip a few on there, and take a toot. If the taste is a bit metallic, you're too dry. If it's gurgly with low vapor, it's too wet blow it out. If it's yummy and vapealicious, it's just right. Rock it for a bit, reapply.

that pretty much nails it. i would start with 3 drops though that normally seems to nail it for me.

It also depends on the liquid. All VG takes longer to wick. And some with higher PG can be down right runny. Most of my atty's take about 3-5 drops to get them started. Then I keep the sweet spot by adding two drops every time I taste dryness. I almost feel like I never want to blow out an atty that has hit that sweet spot. But alas, gotta keep em clean.

Im reading your post dripping a 510 atty on my favorite Silver Bullet, I have several SBs. juice comes in many different mixes. Some are 70% PG 30% VG some 60/40 some 80/20...I prefer 50/50 PG VG so you need to be a bit careful not to flood your atty, but by the same means you need to keep it moist to avoid the burnt taste...which means you need juice. So if you use the thinner 80 PG 20 VG...you will flood easier, more VG means a bit thicker juice and for me anyways less flooding, I still flood from time to time when Im careless..lol...and want that first hit flavor every time. So experiment in 3 weeks you will be an expert.

what do you mean by "blow out"...is that running the battery dry to burn off the gunk on the atty?
Blowing it out is when you take the atomizer off and blow all the juice out real hard into a paper towel.

It is what people do when the atomizer is flooded, which means there is too much juice in the atomizer.
I also think it is a good idea to do it at least once per day, just to get old juice out that might be hung up in nooks and crannies.

Blow out. I use a can of "cleaning duster" you know, the stuf you use to blow off keybords. Blow out the battery where it connects to the atty before you charge it, and blow out the atty at the same time, first from the threaded end and then the open/wick end.

Re the dripping question: 3 drops, vape. When the vape tails off, 3 drops, vape, repeat.

The thing I kept doing wrong when I was trying to figure out dripping is- you gotta let the atty sit for a few minutes when you first start. Drip like 3-5 drops and wander off. Let it soak in. THEN you're ready to go! Otherwise, you'll just get a dry hit, add more juice and then flood it, wonder WTF you're doing wrong, and put it away in annoyance... at least, that's what I did about a half dozen times.

is your 510 auto or manual? If your 510 is auto, then dripping is not recommended. The 510 manuals have a totally sealed threaded end are are safe for dripping. All manuals (even those with a hole in the threaded end) are safer for dripping than autos (autos are totally dependent on a drip sensor right inside the hole)

You're supposed to blow them out, not blow them away! (I'm just kidding so please, don't hurt me. I'm a delicate little flower....)

DOH!! THATS the problem.... I watched a youtube video of a guy showing how to "care for your attys"..I thought "Oh makes sense and I tried it". Well then it stopped working...I dunno what happened....and I wouldnt hurt you. I like that people have a sense of humor here
