I posted this question in another area, but got only one "I don't know" reply. I have been considering buying an EPower kit, for the convenience of changeable cheap batteries. I was wondering if the Echo-e cartomizer would fit that connection, and if not, is there and adapter that would work?

I've been looking at the E Power myself. It has 510 threads, so you would use the echo e cartos. You would not need an adaptor.

I think the Epower has 510 threads but the e-carto is made for ego/riva and has a recessed connecton and won't work with the E-power. Ego mega cartos or cartos won't work either from what I heard. I don't have one myself but is what I've read.

Well, I guess that I'll have 4 drip tips to make darts out of if I can't get them on.

The 510 connector is much smaller than the 801. You might be able to wrap some electrical tape around them to build them up a little to make them fit.

I've been looking at the Epower too. I don't think an echo-e would fit on it because the fitting for the cone threads on the Epower has a wider diameter than a ego. You would need a 510 to 510/ego adapter. I would look for the shortest one out there. You would still have the cone threads of the Epower exposed though. So it wouldn't look as nice. They could have avoided this by making it ego compatible, but these things aren't always well thought out.

Thanks all for the responses. I have four ego batteries, so will just order some Echo-e and use them on the egos. But I think that I am still going to order the ePower. What would you recommend in cartos, for the highest volume for liquid and best flavor producers. I am very satisfied with the Boge LR cartos that I have been using, but would like something that will take more liquid. Any help would be appreciated.

This is a common statement, and a common question. "Boge's are great, but what is a better carto?" I've yet to see a definitive answer.

I too am a Boge LR fan. And I have tried the dual-coils. Dual-coils are good cartos, and they do hold more liquid. In my humble opinion, regulated eGo batteries don't quite have the muscle for dual-coils. The good news is dual-coils are reasonably inexpensive so it can't hurt to try.

There are many posts on this forum where someone says "I tried carto-x but I went back to Boge's."

If you find something better, please let us know.

Careful with the E-power, it's a nice design but the switches have a cut off, at least on mine they do and it is a bad design how they have the cutoff set up in my opinion, it is to dam short of a time and the light starts blinking, I wished they had an on/off switch instead of the cutoff, would make much better sense to me.

Just got a bunch more echo cartos. Really happy because I was on the last of my four. Did try to clean them today. I think I have them pretty clean (did the go go method) but now cannot for the life of me get the filler back in. I have tried so many different straws and they are either the same size as the inner tube or are to large to git the filler tight. Has anyone had that issue or do the bars around me just have the perfect size to not work I am thinking that if this is how it is maybe just cleaning with an ultrasonic cleaner. Has anyone just used an ultrasonic cleaner while leaving the filler in? I am getting about 2 days with sweeter darker juice and 3 days with light tobacco flavors. These are a little pricy to not get more then 3 days. Thanks

PM Mohawkx if he doesn't chime in. He knows all the exact size straws or different tubes to use. I haven't rebuilt any yet so I haven't looked for any yet.

I did the ultrasonic (vodka as cleaning solution), rinse and then oven drying. It worked great on my iGo cartos.

Peace, I got an ultra sonic but it just doesn't do to much as for cleaning these as far as I'm concerned, it doesnt get into the center of the carto where it really needs to get to in order to clean these properly. What I have found to work best is I take the biggest syringe I have, I take off the needle and boil some water. I pull the boiling hot water up into my syringe and inject it hard down into the filler doing all the sides, middle, and just everywhere repeating this numerous times until the filler is all white and clean looking. I then blow it out real good and set it on a table and let it dry out for a few days. You can also take a hair dryer to it to help dry it if you want but this system has been working for me better than anything. Yup you can put them in the oven on the lowest setting for a half an hour too but I prefer just a natural dry and setting it on a table for 3-5 days at least.

that is my gripe with these cartos as well. put a sweet juice into them and you need to replace them very quickly. i dont use sweeter or darker juices in them because its too expensive. for the same price i can use up 2 boge cartos on my ego....per day.
however...if you find a clear liquid that isnt overly sweet, the carto will last you much much longer. for ex. a carto filled with hummingbird nectar (which is REALLY GOOD BTW!!) from kbv lasted me 7 days....and if i get 7 days out of a carto, i am very happy.
if you get 2 days from an echo carto (which some do) @ $5 a pop, thats 2.50 a day...+ juice...if you vape 4 ml/day @70cent/ml.....your looking at over 5 bucks a day just in those 2 items....just as spendy as smoking a pack a day.

Nhaler has them for 3.00 ea. which is still a little expensive but better than 5.00.

I used the same iGo carto for 30 days with a mix of watermelon/peppermint (Gourmet Vapors) before it started going funky. It was cold outside, though, and I think the weather has a lot to do with it. I've had many iGo cartos last 7-10 days with chocolate/coconut mix. This is a lot less expensive than cigs, in my opinion.

I agree, it would've made more sense to put a on/off switch on it. I thought I read that they lengthened the cutoff time on them. Did you get it when they first came out? Have you tried to fit an echo-e on it, or is it obvious it won't work?

Interesting, I was thinking of using either a syringe or a waterpik to blast them. I saw at amazon they even have large syringes with long tapered plastic nozzles at the end that they sell as dental irrigators. I wonder if a waterpik would be strong enough. I think they go up to at least 90 psi pressure. I don't know if this would be better or worse than a syringe, any idea?

To much pressure would not be good for the filler I believe, the syringe and turkey baster is perfect plus you control the PSI this was by hand.

My turkey baster works extremely well and my syringes, I don't think you need to go through the expense of a machine to clean these, it's up to you of course but the pressure of the syringe and turkey baster works very well and is plenty sufficient, just saying, give it a whirl before you spend your hard earned cash you may be surprised.

Thanks mwa, it does make sense to try the cheapest option first and it sounds like they work well for you. Although, I only have 3 ml syringes which is probably too small for the job. Maybe I will try one of those dental irrigator syringes. They range in price from under a dollar to a few bucks.

BTW, the waterpik type devices have an adjustable knob to regulate the pressure, but it doesn't make sense to get it unless I decide I also want to use it to clean my teeth. Seems they do a good job of keeping your gums and teeth healthy, but I haven't researched it enough to know for sure.

For drying the cartos, I've discovered that blowing thru them only does so much. My last time cleaning the cartos, after shaking and blowing them out, I found that if I take a qtip, break off the end and wet it, then stick it over the straw opening and hold it in place with my tongue on the stub, then blow, I'll get an extra ~ 0.5 - 1 ml of water squirt out the bottom
