Oh and btw I got 5 brand new echo cartos Wednesday and by Thursday I could taste a little of that burnt rubber taste in 4 of them! I made certain to push down the filler prior to use as has been suggested here. I do fill the cartos to max before using them too. By today 3 of them are quite obvious and pungent.

Either I'm doing something wrong or there's some qc issue and the atty is too snug against the straw.

This is definitely disheartening. Please keep us updated. I have 4 brand new Echo-E's in my stash. Sure am hoping they don't have this problem.

Is it the Echo or Echo-E's that have this "burnt rubber" taste?

Thanks, JJ

Thanks guys. I will try your recomendations. I got my cartos for about $4 a piece with shipping. Even if they last me 2 days thats $2 a day with $.70 in juice. $2.70 is more then I thought I would be spending a day but its a lot better than the $10 for a pack of cigs (I live in Chicago). I do notice with the lighter non sweet juice I get 3-3 and a half days. If I could get 4 days out of these I would be really happy. Will let you know if I find something that works. I did notice that the ones I cleaned out and dry burned that there was a lot of gunk on the coils so I might have to use the long way to really be able to reuse.

I won't be trying it right away. I saving up cartos to do a batch when needed. I heard about boiling cartos, but it made more sense to see it happening and to see how the bubbles change as the cartos get clean. If it works for one type of carto, it seems to me it should work for all of them! I have it on good authority that this technique works on these as well.

It's the echo 3ml cartomizers. The 'rubber' taste is almost certainly the straw charring by the Atty. I'll be taking some apart in the near future to confirm but, as my earlier post with pictures of my first cartos indicated, there was significant charring of the straws and even the filler that abutted it

I have not had a burnt taste on any of the 5 I have used just a tighter draw when done. When I was dry burning I did get an awful smell like glue burning and almost gave up but i kept at it and I think it was just the gunked up juice because the smell went away. When I finally get them back together I wonder if I will taste burnt glue or not.

no..wait..cropduster has some. But I have noticed that others are not getting stock?

They just sold out and it takes a while to get them back in stock. Nhaler has standard echo cartos but Cropduster is the only one that has echo-e cartos. Nhaler has the best price on cartos but charges 77.00 for the echo 1300 kit vs 59.00 from cropduster.

Just noticed that Nhaler is out of stock of the cartos as well. Also, I just realized that I have been going for over 10 days on the same echo-e cartomizer. I'm using 100% PG Dekang (RY4) juice but still that's not bad at all. I refill it once a day. It seems I have to press the button a little longer now but still I get nice flavor and good vapor production. I gave a couple echo-e cartos to friends at work and so far so good. This may be the device I would suggest to someone new to ecigs for the least hassle and best performance. Still have to test some more though.

Thanks Tx for the thread, letting us all know!

That is good to hear Smokin. I have only used the echo-e to try on my egos but haven't used them much being as I love the Echo 1300 Auto battery so much. I just can't enjoy my manuals as much anymore even my Go-go's set all alone most of the time.

OK! You've convicned me. I'm gonna order an Echo automatic. I've been resisting but I've just got to try one!
By the way, Yeay!!, ikenvape is open for business again....finally! Just ordered 4 of the 801 whistle tips.
