It is my understanding that a Riva1100 or an ego battery comes off the charger at 3.7v and vapes at 3.4v. The KGO1100 comes off the charger at 4.2v and vapes at a true 3.7v until almost at it's recharge point. I'm not absolutely certain about regulated or unregulated circuitry. Someone will probably dial in with an answer to that part of your question.

Thanks mohawkx. I would like to try a Kgo battery except for one issue. According to the supplier, the Kgo battery will not charge with a standard eGo battery charger. This means my already growing hardware collection will get even bigger. So, I guess I'll hold off. The holy grail is just around the corner. Honest it is.

Yeah, I read that too. I don't understand it but I read it. I have riva750s and riva1100s and kgo1100s I keep in rotation. I have only taken out 1 charger that came with the riva750 and have used it to successfully charge all of them over and over for months. So I guess it's an Ego special thing.
Has anyone done a direct comparison between these and Ego Mega Dual Coil cartos? I'm sure it's been mentioned somewhere but I can't seem to find it. Just wondering how they compare in terms of flavour, throat hit and vapour?

I assume that your talking about comparing an Echo Carto with the EMDCC. If so, Yes, I have. There is no comparison in my opinion. The EMDCC blows it out of the water in every category. Some might disagree, but I really don't understand how they could. The EMDCC is such a top performer that they're making adapters for high dollar PVs so that they can use them. Some sell them on the same page as the PV - example Provari. On top of everything else - namely great performance - the EMDCC holds nearly 5 ml of liquid. In terms of longevity, I've had one for a month - cleaned it twice, and I'm still using it with great performance. Add the icing on the cake - it only costs $2.49 at Madvapes:

I have both and I prefer the Echo auto with the Echo carto myself. The emdcc's do work very good on an ego type battery though. I like the combination of the Echo 1300 automatic battery and the matching 3.4 ml Echo better than any other PV I've tried. Everyone is different though it just depends on the individual. If it is just the carto you are interested in and are going to use it on another device the emdcc would probably be the best choice.

Thanks guys. Yep it is the emdcc's that I meant. I'm using echo cartos on an auto echo batt atm and was just wondering if it's worth trying a emdcc. I have heaps of ego batts. I do like the echo apart from muted flavour. Would the emdcc be better in that regard?

I think it would be worth your while to check them out. If the echo is muted flavor for you the emdcc does put out a lot of vapor and t-h but it is a little too much for me for a steady vape. It isn't quite as hot as other dual coil cartos I've tried though. They did kill the mosfet in one of my ego batteries but my ego 1,000 and Kgo 1100 work fine with them except I have to pull out the batt post slightly each time I use one. It also has a large rubber tip that I don't like as good as the one I use with the Echo. Some people say they can taste the rubber but it doesn't bother me. The ego mega type B drip tip is supposed to work with them but the one I have doesn't fit. Smoktek also has them 510 Ego Mega Dual Coil Cartomizer - 1.6 ohm, 4.5ml, - Black w/tip
LOL I have thought about trying an auto eGo in the past, but manual batteries are fine and I've got plenty of them so I will stick with them for now. Might order some emdcc's though.
Thanks tx. I'll probably give them a go. I think I would like the extra TH and vapour. And I prefer a cooler vape too. However, if the rubbery taste of the tip is anything like a giantomizer, I'm not gonna like that.
I'm having a problem with my charger...the wall plug that you plug the usb into doesn't seem to be working, but the usb works just fine.
I have a couple of other usb adapters that plug into an outlet - like those for iphone or kindle..but I'm wondering if these things are generic?
I really hate these usb adapters that don't have a cord...I always feel like they're going to get snapped off or something plus I've been leaving my laptop on to charge and I'd rather turn it off at night.

It should work ok if it has a 5v 500ma output.
Ordered some EMDCCs, ordered a couple black eGo 650 auto batts. Will let you know by Monday/Tuesday at the latest depending on shipping. For the hell of it, I'll pop it on the adapter too and try it on the Echo batts.
I've used the EMDCC on just about everything I have that will work with it, and I find it superior to anything I've used. I also don't particularly like the black rubber tip that comes with them, and I also had the same problem getting the Ego Mega Type B drip tips to fit. However, I did get them to fit by removing the round rubber gasket from the drip tip and using pliers to deform it somewhat for a tight fit. So, I have really good drip tips that I like on all of my EMDCCs. What I did on the drip tips was with the delrin plastic drip tips. I don't know if the same thing would work with aluminum drip tips.

Guess I'll have to try the emdcc too. Have been happy with the echo-e carto setup though.

you mean we can use a charger from a different device as long as it fits and it has a 5V DC output and 500ma?
