Hi Fellow Vapors,

As you see on my join date I am still quite new to vaping but enjoy every minute of it. I was wondering isn't there a way to come up with a Grading scale for Juice? I am not talking about a individual grading from us I am talking about a industry wide grading scale.

See my issue is that some vendors try to sell you high quality juices but what you end up getting is a bottle full of unknown pee. Other vendors sell you amazing juices and they take time to produce them or mix them together. The issue with this is that we A. pay the same amount of money for the juice from both the bad vendors and the good vendors because there is no Grading scale and second of all it does not necessary diminish the vaping community but it makes vaping a small community.

If we had a industry wide Grading scale or at least an organization that is dedicated to grade juice for the customers I am sure more people would give e-cig's a try and it would for sure save us a bunch of money.

For example let's say we have a organization let's call them "Juice patrol" who grades juices the good vendors would welcome them with open arms whereas others with bad juices would most likely dislike the idea. In a short time we will see who is standing out and the companies that don't wish their juice to be graded will just have to close their doors or sell their juice to pest control.

There could also be sub sections like Grading Menthol flavors, sweet flavors, tobacco flavors etc.

Before I start using my brain to come up with a Grading scale that would work for the whole industry let me know do you have any ideas? suggestions?

I just think if something like this would be in place we all would benefit from it including the good vendors as their business would most likely increase dramatic.

Thanks for your time

Edit: The same goes of course for Attys, PV's, Cartos, Clearos you get the point. I am just sick with what people try to sell you and I think a grading scale would help everyone out a whole lot. It may take a couple of month to get everything in place but ASAP it is there we will all benefit from it.

While you'll get responses from some folks that say it's all subjective so you can't grade it, the same could be said of wine, or cigars, or beer, or pretty much anything that isn't written in concrete. But there are people who grade wine, cigars and beer, and there's magazines with quite large followings that publish those subjective gradings. So yes, it would be possible. However, I do think the industry needs to get a bit larger before it could support such an endeavor and have a wide acceptance. With the size of our current population of vapers it would be possible, but it would be somewhat difficult to organize and disseminate the results effectively. But that's just my subjective opinion.

Can't find the applause smiley, but you Sir, have my applause.

After 3 months of vaping, I think the "taste is subjective" is waaaaay overstated.

I think eJuices grading could all easily be broken down into categories, and it really doesn't need to be overly complicated. As mentioned above by cskent, if you examine the grading scales used in wine, beer and cigars a lot of this information can used or inspire an eJuice grading system.

The real issue is finding people that can be subjective when tasting eJuice. Just because you don't like "Rocky RoadHog Menthol Bliss" as a flavoring per se, the individual has to be able to grade the eJuice on the criteria that would determine the point value for any given eJuice, rather than just proclaiming "All Menthol Laced eJuice Blows!"

But I totally agree with you, it can be done... and more so I'd love to be included in on a project such as this. PM if you want any help. :)
