Just got my Aspire ET's and Mini Nova's on Monday. Both been working great. Well this morning I noticed that I was getting a little gurgling from my ET. So I took it off and had a slight puddle of juice on the battery. Chalked it up as a fluke and put it back on. A little while later gurgling again. Same thing. juice on the battery. So I put it back on and immediately took it off and there was a puddle. Did this three times with the same results. So it looks like the leak is getting progressively worse. Figured I would break out the Mini Nova and see if it had any issues. Well now it has developed a leak as well. Put it on and take it right back off. Immediate puddle. Looks like this may be an issue with the heads.

Might wanna contact SI CS on the leaking heads issue. I had a bad head that came with my CE5. Same issue as you have with the Nova and T3......best to nip it in the bud. Ask them what's up with that or even contact Imagine about it to get her opinion.

Just a note about my leak with the CE5.....I had loaded it with SI 555 and it leaked.....I changed the head and used a different thicker juice and it hasn't leaked since. Maybe it's the thin juices that help the heads go bad?? I dunno!

Yeah I figure the day after the holiday they were gonna be busy. Was gonna wait until tomorrow to contact online CS.

Most reports on the aspire line are that they leak once they hit about 20% fill level. I think it's just been accepted that you have to refill once you get toward the bottom of the tank. But, I've got a full size vivi on my zmax, and I don't have much leaking. Spots on the post at most. I've recently moved from 808 to 510, so I probably won't experience how SI's versions work.

Interesting. Mine were both pretty low when they started leaking and gurgling. Just filled them both up and they work fine. Problem solved true. But what is the pint of having a higher capacity tank of you can utilize most of it. That takes the ET down to about 2.5ml of use and the Mini Nova to 1.6. Right back where I was with the mini T3. Guess if I want truly larger useful capacity I need to get a full size Nova.

And someone needs to figure out the cause of this. There has got to be a reason why when the tank gets low it leaks.

I concur Garemlin! This is reminiscent of the regular T3 launch where they had (and still do) gurgle and leak problems that were never really addressed by SI after all of the complaints about them. So where do we go from here? As a benchmark, look how long it took SI to discontinue the CE3 cartos after they got leak complaints. If this is any indication of what to expect due to the leak history of certain products, we may have to find other means of leakproof satisfaction.
MTS, YMMV.

I have tried many different clearos. T3, T3 mini, X2 clearo, CE3, Trition, iClear 16 and now the ET and Mini Nova. The only one that has not had any sort of leaking issues has been the iClear.

Ok I tried filling both the ET and MN back up to full levels and the leaking has stopped. Was just talking to CS online and they suggested I change the heads. But I am gonna wait and let the juice levels get low and see if they start gurgling and leaking again. If so this is a pretty weird situation. Dunno how juice levels could possibly affect leaking.

I’m not sure why this happens, but it’s not an unusual occurrence. I’ve been reading complaints on the Clearomizer forum about clearos leaking, when the juice level gets low, for well over a year now. I think it’s an inherent problem with bottom coil clearos unless you get the wicking/juice viscosity just right. Every head can be different, depending on how tightly the coil is wrapped. With a single coil head like the T3, you can adjust the amount of wick above the coil to fix the problem. From what I understand, you can’t do that with an Aspire dual coil.

BTW : Every clearo I’ve had since the spring of 2012(except the S.I. mini clearo) has dribbled a little juice on the battery. It used to freak me out, but now I just consider it normal. I’m not sure when my Evods leak; I just wipe off the batteries before I charge them.

The reason it leaks is a surface tension/pressure issue. As the fluid level comes down and is displaced by air, eventually you get a certain point where the surface tension can no longer support the weight of the air sitting on top. It's the biggest fail point of bottom coil devices. It's the same reason your t3's and mini t3's leaked. I just started using the iClear 30. It is a bdc clearo. I'll let you know how they work out.

I guess I kinda understand how that works but didn’t know how to explain it. Basically, juice stays in a bottom coil clearo for the same reason that water stays in a straw if you cover the end with your finger.

Well IMO, the manufacturers/dealers should let us know of the inherent problems with low juice level leakage. Not unlike they say with the Nano (you have 30 seconds or so to put the top on or it will leak). At least they tell us up front about the fill/leak issue on the Nano. If they say to make sure to not let the juice level fall to a certain point with the Aspire line or they might leak would at least be a start.

Exactly. A warning, disclaimer or some sort of heads-up. It would let people know in advance what they are getting into so they can make a decision on if they want the hassle. And also keep unnecessary bash threads from starting. But I guess really the only way the manufactures find out about isssues is from reading feedback and comments from us. The end user.

Yeah. The protank comes with that disclaimer. It says that a small amount of juice leakage is expected and that you should clean your battery when you fill your tank. I do have 2 aspires and I've gotten them down pretty low. Neither have leaked. They aren't SI aspires though. I guess I fill them before they get to low because they start getting a burnt taste.

My iClear 16 leaks a bit. I take it off my battery several times a day to check and clean the tiny puddle off my batt, but then my CE2s did the same. That's why I use manual batts. No big deal. As long as it doesn't flood the battery or start leaking all over my hands I consider it within tolerable levels. Still, no leaking at all would be best.
