Looks great. will there be 2 orings to hold the to cap on, like the atty on the right? will it come with the IHybrids drip tip?

I was catching up on thread and couldn't believe no one mentioned the fact that Face said in the right was a naked synthesis atty and if you look it has double orings on the top.
Also face I would like to second the provari skirt for that atty (I know you have to have a provari or 3 sitting around there.

They are touching but not to tight...I'm assuming the burnt flavor is coming from the hot spot?
Can you post a closer pic?
There is a short someplace, and not necessarily just in the top coil.
How tight are the wraps? They should be just touching the mesh, but not "tight" at all points.

Yes, and the lack of vapor from the fact that only the top portion is heating enough to vaporize juice at all.

If you have a minute, remove that coil, and try the following...

Wrap your wire around the negative post and tighten. If looking at the iHy, the end your going to break short should be facing you, and the portion of wire that you'll wrap around the wick should be pointed towards the front edge of your wich when you tighten the negative screw down.

Wiggle and break off the loose end.

Hold the wire and begin to rotate the iHy in your hand keeping a little tension on the wire against the wick. There should be no significant gaps, but it also shouldn't be "pinching" the wick in any way.

Slowly keep rotating the iHy to wrap the coil around the wick. Try to keep the coils spaced the best you can, doesn't need to be perfect.

Shoot for a 4/5 wrap for your first one (looking at one side, you'll see 5 wraps of coil, from the other, you'll see 4.

You want your top coil about in-line with the positive screw, not travelling up at an angle like you have it now.

The wire should go counter-clockwise around the pos screw.

BEFORE you tighten it down, use your fingernail, a tooth pick, etc to get the coils spaced right gently nudging them. Depending how much nudging you do, you may create a little slack up top which is why I'd not recommend tightening that screw first.

Once you're happy with it, wrap it about 3/4 way or so around the Pos screw and slowly tighten it down. Don't be afraid to hold the wick / coil in place while you tighten to keep it from moving around.

Once its tight, put a battery in (preferably not a fully charged battery, just to check for shorts / hot spots).

Empty the tank if you still have juice in it and pulse fire it. Short bursts at first to look for major shorts.

If you still see the top getting hot, gently nudge ALL of the coils a bit, or twist, or, wiggle the wick a little.

Do this until all coils glow pretty much evenly (doesn't need to be 100% as the rest will break in within 1/4 tank at most).

Now, the most important part, vape away and let us know how you make out!

Ok so no hot spot any longer and vapor is ok...I just poked at the coils a bit...vapor production still isn't more than my carto tank. I don't have a multi meter but I'm using 500 SS with 32g kanthal 3/4 wrap..still getting a burnt flavor though.

Even though you don't see "that" hot spot anymore, I'd bet there's still a short someplace.

If you don't want to re-wrap, suck the juice out and dry fire to see how they light up.

Lack of vapor is because only "some" of the coils are getting hot enough, or because you're flooding the wick.

When you fire with the cap off, do you see juice bubbling (this would mean flooding), reduce your "vaping angle".

If no bubbling, but you only see vapor coming from some of the coils, you still have shorts for sure..

This helped me a lot with my hotspots. That little bend in the wire keeps it nice and close to the wick.

Don't want to beat a dead horse but is you're wick oxidized enough? I thought mine was but now I use the jack frost method where you torch the mesh before you roll it. It has worked wonders. Did everything right with the coil but my problem was ultimately the wick.

Take your 32 kanthal and twist it together (Tight) and wrap a 4/5 coil and make sure your top coil is pretty even with where it goes on the possitve post. Pull the wick close to the possitive post (Almost touching) make sure your bottom coil coming from neg screw is off the base of the atty. Make sure your wick isnt touching the bottom of the tank, also make sure your wick is Well Oxidized. Try that and you will have a Monster... :) Also Make sure your wick stays good and wet with juice, until it has broken in...

I don't have one and this tutorial is for the lavagen, but watch around 5 minutes into the video on how he builds a coil.

This is the best tutorial on how to build a wick that does not hotspot:
