V Ninja, I had some minor scratches on my Illuminati as well but hadn't mentioned anything yet... I assume this is something that just happens when dealing with metal fab and I don't think we would want to pay the premium for Face to implement a "white glove" operation

Yeah, my Illuminati had some pretty large, noticeable ones- as you can see.

My Dragon was absolutely flawless, so I guess it kind of spoiled me into thinking that the Ill would be too. TBH, I ripped on the Zen hardcore because it showed up with flaws and scratches, and any time I spend hundreds of dollars on something, I kind of expect it to be proper all the way around. If my chinese clones didn't come with scratches, these shouldn't either, and I know that Face doesn't intend on sending anything out like the tube that I received. I'm sure it'll be sorted.

My luck hasn't been good, almost every time I spend big money on a device it shows up scratched (exception: the Dragon) :/

Actually, you would know better than most because everywhere I go, I see you've gotten a new high end device, BNS the mod collector, lol...so is it the norm to expect that kind of thing? It's a valid question- how much of the stuff that you order actually comes scratch-free?

I'm looking forward to seeing how the machining looks. Hoping that they are good --Shoddy threads are my pet peeve. Will love it anyway though - kind of cool to think that you have something a bit different with the LE's. Really is interesting that he is able to meet the demand as well.

Exactly, I know that he didn't intend on sending something like that out. It would be a disservice on my part (or on any of us, really) to just ignore it and let it go, because if his workers help with the next batch and ship something similar out to the next customer, they may not be as understanding

So yeah, figured it was better to speak up than jut let it slide and knock it in a review. I did the same thing with the Zen, tried to address the issue first, and realized that the supplier wasn't about to fix a cosmetic problem- so the review went along with that in mind. I try to be fair

Very similar to black licorice but not exactly the same. Many who hate black licorice still enjoy absinthe.

About the blemishes, as much as it pains me to say this, yes, a majority come with some form of mark or scratch. I often let it slide because I have an eye for things like that and will notice just about any tiny little mark. If it's bad enough I will say something. I just got a Kayfun 3 from Russia and it had a gouge right next to the engraving, the part you look at the most lol. That one I did contact the maker because it was damn near $300 just for an atty and it was bad enough to report. It's tough man, all I can say is that some instances would illicite a complaint and some not. It all depends on what you are willing to live with and how you plan to use the piece. If it's something that wont leave the house then it generally bums me out even more. If it comes from a cool dude like Face then I can pass it off as working hard to crank out orders
