congrats Lady ;)

Here we go Zack! I'm a terrible photographer, UGH! And, it's with my iPhone, so these pics do NOT do justice to my beautiful new BLACK iHybrid. Faceless even gave me silver tubes so I could interchange. I have had this together every which way and backwards! It's so awesome and I feel so grateful (and so appreciated :)) I don't want to keep gushing....here's some pics (I don't know if they're good enough to be considered "porn"...but the Black iHybrid CERTAINLY is!)

When I first opened the box I couldn't tell what it was! LOL I kept thinking of what Faceless said...something like "Dark Mystery" or "Dark Secret"

The black tubes are beautifully sleek!

lol and of course had I paid attention then I would have noticed that in your sig. Hard to resist cause they are badass. Anyone else notice the change from the pentagram in the skull to the ihybrid symbol? Im okay with it esp. because I am already being given hell for the design itself by a few overly worried family members

yea it was supposed to be an 'evil' design, not satanic and the reason I asked to have it changed...I think it adds more ihybreed personality IMO

I think with the logo on the forehead, it gives the image that the IHy conqured the beast and Branded it for proof:evil:

COIL TWIST/BRAID METHOD - Tips & Tricks - Combined Member's Posts

1. Casefase79 - Using a screwdriver and pliers::

Don't know if this is the right or fastest way but this is how I did it.
1. Cut piece of kanthal twice the size you'd usually would use.
2. Take both ends and clamp them together with a pair of pliers or wrench.
3. Insert a screwdriver in loop at the other end and start twisting.
4. Keep twisting till it is really tight. Be careful as you can wrap so tight it breaks off.
Keep in mind that you need to wrap more coils than usual. A 5/4 wrap works pretty well for 32g kanthal.

2. AlmightyGod - YouTube Instructional Video

Yea I know all about the capillary action and theory. What I can't explain is why using the same amount of material as I generally do...1.2 inches but spread across two wicks makes a significant difference in flavor.
Separating the material into two sections make sense to me. There is some capillary and straw action taking place inside of the larger wick. Surface tension blah blah...
Flavor must be a side effect of better wicking. I'm still a relative newb to all of this but right now double wick with twisted 34 is my best vape combination

3. EZkill - Capillary & Straw Action

4. Schneck - Using a drill or a Dremmel

This helped a lot for me you could try twisted 32 kanthal to me is a lot more forgiving on shorts..IMHO I won't even use 1 wire anymore after twisted...take 2 long pieces of wire and clamp one side and put other ends in drill or dremmel and pulse button few times till nice and twisted...need a good tight twist...then try that for your coil. A 3/4 wrap for me is usually around 1.3ohms but I have found its easier to work with for shorts...and make sure no matter what batts your using u quik pulse fire to see hot spots so don't pop coils ..hope this help. Pics of setup would help if problem persists. In dew time you will look back at this experience and laugh at the simplicity of make a new setup once you find your groove

5. Out of The Ashes - Using 2 Vice Grips

I use two vice grips. Clamp both ends, let it hang then spin the bottom

6. VaBeach454 - Using double wire, then use pliers to twist

You can twist it with a pair of pliers. Double your wire to equal lengths (one length of wire) and the end where the loop is just place it over something to hold it. twist with the pliers until you have a nice braid of wire going (Kinda tight) so it will remain twisted good.

7. NancyR - Using your hands

I hold the two ends by one hand and with my index finger of the other hand in the loop just twist it that way, but I also only do enough for 1 or 2 coils at a time

8. Charger72 - Using your hands

Chelsea you will love do a 3/4 wrap. Get a foot long piece fold it even. Connect the unlooped end to your negative take your finger and stick it the looped end twist till it gets snug on your finger. Take a lighter and run it along till it gets red helps the wire not be as springy. Wrap her up and go not many shorts at all because there is less wire touching the wick. It is a beast.

9. Zygote - Using and Allen Wrench and Pliers

I hold the end of the wire w/a small cutting pliers, stretch, put the bent end of the allen key in the loop and TWIST!

10. Silentdoom - Attaching wire to negative post

I take the two free ends of the wire, lock them into the negative post, put my Allen key inside the loop and twist! Easy

11. MaxPerilous - Attaching to the screw

(See Pictures in Post) See how tight my twists are? Hold one end with my Gerber and the other is on my dremel. I just twist about 2 feet (1 foot finished) at a time. I honestly just twist it until the wire breaks. It always breaks either where I'm holding it with pliers or right where it's attacthed to the dremel. Main thing is to keep tension while twisting and you should get good clean twisted wires.

12. K-Man - Using an Allen Wrench & Vice Grips

Option two......I fold a length of wire over, clamp the loose ends with a vice grip, hang the closed end off an allan key, and then just give the vice grip a spin. I get a nice tight coil everytime.

13. Vapor2112 - Tip: Measure a bit longer (especially the first time) and using an Allen Wrench

Even easier... Cut a length of wire, go a little over on the first try, you'll figure out the right length by your second one..

Wrap the loose ends around the negative post and tighten to secure.

Put your Allen key in the looped end, keep some tension on it and start tightening. It will create a perfect twist and don't worry about the little open loop on the end since you're going to cut off the excess anyway.
