Put a battery in it and turn the lock ring clockwise to unlock it, it's opposite.

Why do people keep saying its opposite .... even Face said its reverse thread .....

Its not .... its standard right hand threading .... Counter clockwise screws it out from the switch thus locking it.
Clock wise screws it into the switch thus un-locking .....

For those of you that use the righty tighty analogy it still applies.
Right tightens the ring up to the switch body and the button can depress.
Left loosens the ring from the switch body and locks the button

Presto just like every other standard threaded device. I think thats a much less confusing way of putting it. Don't mean to sound cranky but I owned a fastener company and sold nuts and bolts etc .... for 25 years :) I know left hand (reverse) thread when i come across it.
It may be internally reverse thread (never took a switch apart) but in function of the ring to the end user its still righty tighty as they say :D

But sound like it won't matter moving forward with the new switch :)

I have been keeping quiet about the new switch since I don't actually have an ihy yet and am inexperienced. My main concern about purchasing a bottom buttoned apv was the switch though, due to my arthritis. I figured I could always fire it off by pushing the ihy against my palm if the pinky method didn't work. I don't see that method working with the new switch though. Do I want a refund because of it? Absolutely not! I will definitely have to give it a try before I can pass judgement on it. Surely, I can find a way to make it work for me.

BTW, things move fast in iHy land don't they ???
I guess I have to get used to the super human pace of Faceless and some of you other dedicated hybreeds ....

One day I hear about a possible new switch and see a youtube vid of it.
I comment on the youtube video I'm not sure about it .... kind of wait and see what people think.
Then a day (maybe two) later I find out my HR thats all ready on order is coming with the no longer possible new switch.
So I guess rather than wait and see some reviews like I usually do I'm the Cavia porcellus (google it) on this one.

I'm cool with that but some might not be .... Yes I know they could get a refund but thats potentially very disappointing for a customer. Oh well it is what it is I guess ....

Don't get me wrong I'm still like a kid waiting for Christmas .... Come on HR (hope the machine delay is minimal)
My biggest concern is in the render I see three sharp points per "peg" on the bottom so thats 12 sharp looking points that might irritate my hand pushing it 4000 X per day. I have permanent nerve damage in my right hand and though some days it makes it less sensitive most days its pretty tender.

But it looks like if anyone tries to take my HR I could smash them in the face and do some serious damage.
Just hope I'm as pleased with it as the switch on my spider. It has given me zero trouble since day one.

Face, if I order a Standard on 12-17 (or when they return) is that shipping with new or old switch ?? Or can I purchase a current switch on its own ?? You must have a few lying around right ?? :) Just want to keep my options open so I don't have to sell the HR if its not working out for me.

Hopefully its fantastic as you say ..... but then I'll want one for my spider :D

you wont have to hold it at an odd angle, it works very well :)
this is not even close to the precise, that switch is very small, the ihy switch is wider with 4 cutouts and doesnt have to be held at an angle to use it, this is also very stable while standing up, I dont use my precise either because of that switch, I however used my ihy all day with the new switch, only problem I had was i kept trying to lock it lol. Kinda nice not having to lock it and not worry about it firing in my pocket and such.

I will refund anyone who doesnt want the hell raiser or flower due to the new switch, just PM me transaction ID and state refund. Let me put it this way, my wife loves the new switch and she doesnt like anything, including me

thats awesome, I feel painfreak will be here trying to buy this one lol

No worries Face. I am taking your word for it, or would have PM'd you already. I am just voicing my opinion, FWIW. I'll have an opinion when I get it also, hopefully good.

That skull candy POC will make one bad .... PV. Now I wish I had waited :)

I need to say AGAIN....love the look of the new switch. It's sleek and elegant. No stubborn locking rings, stands without firing. I believe he said he had to do this for insurance purposes, not to annoy people who bought his product. Before everyone starts clamoring for the "old" switch, how about trying the "new" one?? I could just be perfect. Just my :2c:

You are correct on the older ihys. But on the last few ihys that went out face did put reverse threading on the locking switch. So that's why people are saying that.

I believe the Illuminati came with an actual REVERSE thread lock ring, at least thats what had been reported.

I thought I was having problems but if you click the link and wait about 10 seconds after the page loads it will orient the correct post for you, I think, LOL

thevinstigator, thank you for pointing that out! I think that's part of the problem people are having. When a post is added to the spreadsheet, the actual Post # is the Link (not the page!). It takes a few seconds when the link is clicked for the page to locate that exact post. People need to be patient :)

I think on the spreadsheet you have to have the forum set to 40 posts per page for it to just work from clicking on the link. I changed mine earlier today and it works perfect now.

No I am on default count for the pages to load and it works for me. I am also not very advanced when it comes to computers.

Hmmm. I didn't know that the page count made a difference. Thanks thevinstigator!

its like bookmarks that are always up :)

I keep the spreadsheet open everytime I have the forum open. LOL I'm glad to see I'm not the only one! Thanks crash!

I had to use LPS greaseless lubrication on one of mine..I then cleaned them with LPS no Flash..been great ever since...worth a shot if you have access to 'em! Oh and batt...slow typer..

I haven't heard of the "LPS" product? What is it? Is it new? Do you have a link?

Been spamming my instagram with all these new pics, people are loving it, asking if i am the seller lol......sent em all to the site. I NEED a Day of the Dead! Bad vaping day though, been having issues with wicking all day....seems on and off...do you guys usually let your tank run right down (liquid wise?) or do you top up at a certain level...

therealcmac, I've had those days, ugh! They're getting fewer and farther between though (knock on wood!). I fill my tank pretty full. I know lots of folks will vape the juice right down to the last drop with no problems! I've learned the biggest issue is with new wicks and coils...they have to have a little time to break in...and folks forget to vape at a level that helps the wick stay in the juice (I think it's 2 to 3 o'clock). Go thru the wicking and coiling sections of spreadsheet once in awhile...sometimes the slightest "tips and tricks" can make all the difference.

...further note on the GITD o-rings....they are quite a bit softer than the black and colored ones currently being used. after a while they discolor from juice, and soften even more, causing leakage...I had some for a while and replaced them w/ the original orings for the unit in question...no more leakage...

Uh, not a good thing with those O-rings Shaitaan, eh? I don't recall where those came from? Do I need to take that off the spreadsheet so others don't order them have the same problem? Let me know, will you? Tks!

Gawd I'm glad you said this MissEmma! I wanted to, but hadn't gotten to it! People are "jumping the gun" with negativity! I agree....give it a try gang!

OK, Ii think I'm caught up. I try to stop in 2 or 3 times a day so I don't get so far behind! This thread IS moving SO fast! LOL

p.s. Fisty, beautiful work BTW :)

There have been a few folks on here who have already stated they would be willing to swap switches for those who would like to retain the older switch. I believe a few of them posted yesteday. I want one of each, I am going to keep my standard all original, but I will definately be picking up another after the holidays.
