I had to make sleeves out of acrylic to make it look good on a 510 the blue thing.

Hey gang! I'm slowly catching up a little at a time. I think I'm on page 891 :). Amien...you sure got hit hard losing parts of your Spider, but at least your DH was able to save some, eh? I won't forget dropping one of my first mods (not expensive) out my car window on expressway last summer! OMG I was furious at myself (and I haven't flipped anyone off since!!! LOL giggle). I sort of figured I deserved it in a way :(. (But HE STARTED IT!)

I'll be back later friends :)

Looking dapper in his new carbon fiber tux, don't ya think?
Really cool! Hey I've seen a couple of you guys have posted pictures of these carbon fiber sleeves and I had a question for ya.

Can you take them on and off multiple times without the sleeve being ruined?

I Dont dissagree. But,keith has always believed in the 901.
901 is a tough call to make, with the sheer amount of good 510 stuff to put on mods. I am not knocking 901 at all, but I'd hate to have to keep an adapter on my new toy every time I wanted to use most of my stuff with it. :2c:

What is the chemical make up of the panasonic batteries?

I'm a bit confused myself.

On Orbtronic it says they are IMR (that is Li-Mn), but that is incorrect.

On the Panasonic product page, it says they are ICR (Li-Co) and warns strongly against without PTC. They are indeed NOT your run-of-the-mill ICR, but rather a patented technology called PSS. The data sheet seems to indicate that they are designed for currents of up to 10A which is OK (leaps and bounds better than standard Li-Co/ICR, but not as great as true Li-Mn/IMR batteries)...

So my own take from this whole thing is that these batteries are probably OK to use, but theoretically less safe than Mn based technologies. The fact that they feature an internal 'anti-explosion' valve tells all, imo. I think no one should market then as 'safer chemistry' batteries, just as 'high drain' ICR batteries.
