Find me a good picture of traces that will convert gracefully into black and white and isn't copywrited. I would prefer to do the whole tube for that rather than the whole tube on the 350 and cut off half way on the 650.

Hey Cyclin.. can you engrave over the already cut out tank sleeve? It would look wicked if the whole thing was covered in traces. We have no way of making the traces line up from the tube to the sleeve, Clyclin doesn't have a jig like Face does, but it would still be epic if it can be done.

wondering if maybe it could be lined up if Cyclin had the atomizer piece as well and could do the engraving with both the tube and tank cover seated on the atomizer? i have no idea how this stuff works, so just ignore me if i'm way off on this.

there are tons of awesome images available for free or cheap for an extended license if you search "circuit board vector". you're the visual master around here Fisty, so I'll stay out of the way, but I'll happily pay the licensing fees of any vector or image that is needed, no joke. PM me if this needs to happen. i'm serious.

Circuit Board, Vector File, Change The Colors As You Like - 2606255 : Shutterstock

stop me if this shutterstock stuff is completely useless to you.

That one is pretty much exactly what I was thinking of. Number could be the LE number it is.. 9/11 was #1, GE was #2, Spider was #3 etc.. so could be iHY-13 or there abouts.

It doesn't have to be a vector, Cyclin can convert from image files.. I've been giving him about 1/2 and 1/2.. I work in Photoshop which does paths but not nearly as well as illustrator, (I haven't touched Illustrator since tech school so I'd be pretty much lost in it without some serious skill refreshing) and it can't open vectors as vectors, it'll read them but converts them into pngs. The benefit is I can make them utterly huge pixel resolution so when Cyclin converts them back to vectors for the engraving he doesn't have to spend much time cleaning it up. the Celtic design I made tonight is 32000 pixels wide.

I would prefer to find something other than shutterstock, but if you're willing to pay for the commercial rights and we have no other choice it'll work. Tonight was the first time I've spent any money out of pocket on this.. I bought 13 Celtic design vectors for $2.98 cause the pages had two that were absolutely perfect. Cyclin will still need to convert them back into vectors cause I have to do a lot of work on them to get them to fit how I wanted around the tube and be seamless. That is another trick.. I will have to make whatever we find seamless when the two edges wrap around and .... up against each other..

classic "circuit board green" with the raw aluminum engravings would look so sick! although, maybe black with raw aluminum would look even better?!?! or perhaps blue? yeah, i think blue would be insanely awesome.

You know what I think would look totally wicked? If you could first anodize the tube gold, mask off the traces, then anodize again in green. Then you would have the more classic circuit board look in my opinion. That would be a ton of work though, but if it would be possible to anodize a layer of gold, then a layer of green, laser engrave but only go through the green layer, you could get the same effect.

No idea if the second option is possible though.

I think you would actually have to mask off the pattern, annodize green, then mask off everything thats green and annodize gold...

Could be done but would be a huge PITA.

If my understanding is correct you can't double annodize, meaning annodizing wont stick to annodizing, so you have to strip old annodizing to change colors.

Boss brought up my new switch this morning, threw it on and promptly decided that everything I own that has a switch on it will be cleaned tonight when I get home, Going to swing by home depot on the way and purchase some acetone, dissasemble everything but the provari and soak it all. I don't see any muck at all on my HR switch but it doesnt hit like this.
