Ok my 9/11 story
I was homeless and a raging alcoholic and drug addict at the time and was squatting in an abandoned house. I woke up at around 6 am and only had 1 cigarette left so I began the 7 mile walk to the closest store and decided to stop bye and see a friend of mines barbershop to see if I could get a free haircut. When I stopped bye he had the tv on and I saw that the 1st plane had hit. Sat down in the chair and watched as the second plane hit. At that monent I realized it was a terrorist attack. Thought it may have been North Korea at 1st. Spent most of the day at the barber shop. After the towers fell I used a payphone to call my mother. Wasn't sober for 2 weeks after. It was the only way I could get away from thinking about it. Almost 2 weeks later to the day I was drunk and walked out into the road and was struck by a car doing 45mph. Ended up getting sober about a yr. later. Strangely enough my AA sponsor had retired from the NYFD. He lost 15 of his closest friends that day. Only then did I fully appreciate how much some people lost that day.
