I use a dremel with sanding wheel, dont worry about it, I'll send you one for replacement

They messed up my purple and blue ones also so I told them to redo them, thats the hold up :)

Oh dremel with sanding wheel...good call. I'll go hit mine with that and see if I can't get more out of the threads.

I don't want to bother you with sending them back unless I totally can't fix them. That being said I'll be careful but I might ruin the threads. It's firing with the tubes but with a lot of current loss.

Yeah, that's about where I am.. I don't have a dremel though, I'll get a metal toothbrush one of these days when I have time to go to home despot. My green tube doesn't conduct at all and the red one is operating at maybe 1/2 strength. I went back to the unfinished battery tube for now. My Zenesis isn't wanting to wick at all for some reason, and my ZAP is broken. Yay.

So wrap a coil around a 3mm bit and what do I wrap the wick around to make it fit perfect inside the coil?

Ezkill uses about 1 inch of mesh wrapped on a 16g needle.

I just eyeball it which probably made it harder for me.

Wish I had a 3mm tube I can test shove the wick into.

It's a bit more then that. Wrap a coil around the smooth part of the bit 3/4/5 turns, or whatever you need. Don't use the actual bit part of the bit. Insert the end of the bit into your tank after you wrap your wire tightly around the smooth shaft. Pin your negative wire first and then pin your positive wire letting the coil stretch out on the bit. Make sure it's tight, you may have to give it a little tug on the positive end.

Then VERY important *remove bit and fire coil 3-4 times JUST until it glows* This will stiffen the coil up and you will have a perfect coil suspended directly over your wick hole.

You can wrap wick around a paper clip or needle. Doesn't matter. I use a 16 gauge needle but I also do double wicks. You could use an 18 gauge.

Also very important. You want your wick to barely slide through the coils. You can make the bottom more narrow to get it through and inside your tank but you want the top part to barely be touching your coils. If it's too tight you will have problems. If it's too lose stuff will taste burned. It's not hard to do but it has to be pretty close.

well I have a kobalt allen tool, that has different sizes on it in metric. The 2.5 fits perfect in wick hole and I'm going to use the 2 to roll a wick around

I blame you for my obsession with fat wicks but you need a damn small needle to wrap a fat wick for the Petar K method.

Hmmm... wonder if I can find a tube with a ID of 3mm... off to check after work.

New idea! Genesis setup kits! Two tubes, 1 with a OD of 3mm to wrap the coil on and 1 with a ID of 3mm so you can wrap your wick and shape it in the tube.

Only one of my 4 red and black tubes works. Let me see if I can get them working before you burn anymore product or postage. Don't worry, I'll let you know :)

As long as it fits in the hole and is smooth you're good.

The key here is you want a perfect and symmetrical coil. You want the coil to not pressure the wick like we typically do when we wrap first. Electricity will always take the path of least resistance, so if you have a perfect coil that doesn't exert a lot of pressure on the wick the current will flow down the coil and not "jump" through the wick.

VAbeach, will they let you come pick it up?

You know I went to get tracking # to call the post office to see about picking it up. I decided to look at the tracking info again and it had been updated to out for delivery!! :) The funny part is it said sorted at 9:03am and I assumed that was way to late to be out for delivery today. I guess some of the drivers have later runs than others?? Anyway it is out for delivery... I will post pics, as soon as I unwrap it.

Nope....

The "tracking" information isn't really tracking information and isn't guaranteed. A lot of stuff hows up at my door that hasn't even updated as out for delivery yet.

The reason is they scan them in with a gun and the gun will only update to their computers when it's docked. The batteries on the last something like 8-10 hours so sometimes they don't get docked until much later in the day.

It's not up to the minute tracking like UPS or Fedex, it's just a general idea. That being said my stuff has been really messed up lately. I get about a dozen packages a week from USPS and it's always hit my local sort facility at between 1-3AM and would be delivered the same day. Now for the last two weeks all my stuff has a 1-2 day delay after hitting the local sort facility. Basically none of my mail is arriving on time anymore :(

Ebay, Grainger etc.

I'm trying some different mesh from another source that's supposedly better, 316 SS grade as opposed to 304 SS. It should be arriving today, I'm doubtful it will make a difference but we'll see.

I have a Grainger about 5 miles from the house. I looked on line and it seems they want about $10 a square foot for it. A little if any cheaper than ebay, but it is just up the road abit...

Lots of the genesis geniuses use The Mesh Company: Online Shop for Woven, Knitted and Perforated Mesh for Art, Craft, Floristry, Modelling and Engineering. I haven't used them, but I understand that they commonly throw in an extra sheet with your order.

Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201 using Tapatalk 2

I just went there and they want 7.99 Euro for a sheet + im sure shipping. This is a quote from there website when you buy a sheet of 400x400...

We will ship a free standard 'super fine' sheet (this will be #200 - #300) for every #400 mesh A4 sheet purchased.

Hey faceless, I ordered my IHy Pluid Edition today but the magnets were out of stock (Which I knew was gonna be the case) Was wondering if you will get more in before the Pluid Edition ships and if so would I be able to add them to that order so I don't have pay for the extra shipping charge?

I wont have magnets again for 20 days :) I'll just send them with your 14500 order LOL, I will put the updated spring in your order though :)
