How did you get blue firing coil? Is that a camera filter that makes it show up blue?

Got a good coil goin the other day.....too good, wicking wasn't enough.
Make new fatty wick.....kill previous good coil :facepalm:
Kill lots of 32 kenthal getting new wick going.......check :evil:

And finally, perfection!

No worries DarklyNoon! Hope you find your sweet setup soon! Think part of the fun is messing around.

Not in my experience .... pinched off top makes mine wick much faster.
I don't know the science of it and lord knows I've been wrong before but I've tried both ways.

Anyone else know for sure that can confirm/deny ??

Wanted to respond before this gets lost.

From my own non scientific testing, pinching the wicks only increase the wicking in the pinched area (you just mashed more material together so wicking increasese, same concept as a fat wick).

In terms of overall wicking, I find pinched fat wicks to be slower than a non pinched. With thinner wicks the difference becomes less noticeable.

I think the fat wick + pinched top wicks less do to reduced flow.
