Ok.. I just read about 90% of this entire thread.. head is still spinning.

#1 thanks faceless for making such a great mod. Since you cant wait to kill zombies and can make mods, we should team up the day that happens ;) you can make a Zombie splash anodized iHybrid (HINT YOU SHOULD DO THIS lol) and i'll plink the zombies while you do.. dont worry ill save some for you.

#2 Murdoch - So sorry to see all that go on.. What you do is greatly appreciated. Take a well needed break, watch some movies :) Thank you.

#3 BIIIIG thanks to Schneck for parting with an iHybrid and bringing me to the family. Your kindness wont be forgotten brother.

I really like this thread, and ill be checking in here all the time now.. just wanted to say Hi and introduce myself now that im up to speed.
Cant wait to see what awesome iHybrids come out in the future!

Thanks so much for posting the site Paulbald :) Speaking of which....the Reference Site is getting kind of cluttered, so I'm going to spend some time the next few days cleaning it up (getting rid of duplicates or outdated info). Any suggestions are appreciated. The Forum is moving so fast, I can barely keep up...LOL...and I need to read EVERY post so I don't miss anything that might need to go on the site for future reference. It's been a great help so far, I think!

So let me know if you have any ideas OR if you see something I missed (sometimes I can't catch everything) :(

Thanks, gang! Click for: Faceless: The iHybrid APV: Reference Links

May I suggest some?
It would be great if it converted to PDF file and located in the first page of the thread , which would be helpful for new users of iHybird as well as a reference for the current users
It's just a thought came to me while I'm drinking a cup of coffee and vape Apple.

Cheers,

Hi all new to thread...I have been looking for a hybrid. I have researched and the nerd in me came out when I came across the ihybrid:) I started saving up and now I am ready to buy. I have used a proveri for a while now, and was told by lots of people to buy a zap, but it dawned on me, why buy a zap if I can just get the real thing? So I just wanted to say hi!

Just wanted to jump in real quick and say how much I am loving this Genesis Hybrid :)

After all is said and done I have decided this is THE mod to keep. I can't see parting with it!

One of the things that I really disliked about the ZAP (not sure if the Zen mods do this) is that top cap is very heavy and never secured very well. I would never trust that thing in my pocket. The tank sleeve concept for the cap and asthetics is sooo nice! I really do carry this in my pocket all day and I never worry that the top is going to come off and ruining my wick, coil or pocket!

After getting back into making wicks and coils again, I have decided this hybrid for whatever reason is so forgiving for rebuilds! I have had a stick up my .... the other day trying other methods and they are all working and with the least amount of fussing!

The switch is pretty damn good, I don't know how to fix the slight wobble or whatever as I am not a machinist or anything, but thats about all I can find that bugs me a little. Other than that, I think it does stand up on its own even with the button not locked. I don't feel like its going to tip over but, when I first set it down and it does the bobble head dance for a second it does make me slightly nervous.

The choice of airy and tight draw screw is pretty awesome too! I honestly was thinking it would just be a slight improvement or change but, its actually quite genius! The tall hex tight draw is close enough to the bottom of my drip tips to actually change the pressure/suction needed to draw! I tried the pan head screw and whaddaya know!? Airy and perfect for direct inhalers! I love this as I am not really a direct inhaler, I tend to mouth draw mostly. I think it's a WAY better option than buying a whole new top cap with a smaller hole.

The battery sleeves not fitting batteries has been fixed with the new button, so thats no longer something I really need to mention. As I do not have the new button I can only say that my three 18350's all fit differently. One has almost no gap and the other two have gaps, I cannot tighten down the tube or caps to fill them in. My 18650's both have no gaps and snug up just fine.

I am not sure how Faceless did it, but I was worried that the device would be overly top heavy, espcially given that the top is all nice sturdy thick stainless steel and everything else is aluminum. I am pleased to say it does quite well and with the batteries in, it does even out quite a bit. Thats something my ZAP would make me cringe with, the top was much heavier with that hunk of metal on top.

So anyway. Thanks a lot, Faceless! You really know what you're doing and you do it very well!

This thing is not leaving my side anytime soon!

Welcome!!!

Never had much luck with the ZAP, myself. If its your first Genesis style atomizer, I have found the tinkering/fussing to be the most forgiving. I used to mess with my ZAP for hours! This one I roll a wick, make a coil... might have to poke and adjust the coil or wick a little, but it doesn't take me more than 15 minutes to coil, roll and fire a rebuild.

Honestly, as much as I love my ProVari... I think that having variable voltage just causing yet another variable in making the proper coil/wick. When you are just building for a 4.2-3.6V device, it simplifies the experience... just IMO.

When I had a my ZAP I used to think I wanted to wrap a coil for 2.0 or higher or even just wrap a coil with whatever I wanted and adjust the voltage from there... but it never quite worked out that way for me. I tweaked and poked and proding for a very long time to get the perfect vape. Just seems more simple to wrap a coil for 1-1.4 ohms and vape away!

Anyway, I know people will disagree with me on that... but I felt the ProVari was better used on cartos, carto tanks, clearos and other products where you can adjust for the differences in each method.

Variable wattage is a different story, kicking one of these Hybrids is not like adjusting the voltage... its just giving you the same wattage no matter what coil you choose... I know that sounds silly as you can adjust the voltage on the ProVari... but its not the same thing IMO.

I have a question for if you don't mind sense you have used both...I used to drip all the time, because I enjoyed the flavor. I switched to tanks because I couldn't drive and drip. But I noticed that I was giving up a lot of the flavor. I have gotten used to it now, but at first it really was more difficult. Now that I am going into a hybrid, is the flavor better or about the same as a tank?
Thanks,
Amie

By far better!

It's a very clean taste and produces plenty of vapor!

Compared to dripping? It's about equal. I find it to be very close. Some will argue for both, but if you enjoyed the clean dripping flavor, you will love a genesis atomizer!

You will never want to go back to carto tanks or clearomizers.

If you like to chain vape, the only thing you have to get used to is tipping the ihybrid to about three o clock (wick toward the bottom of the tank), it helps keep the wicking.

I'm not a heavy chain vaper, but if you like to take a long draw like me, you will want to tilt it a little.

That's what I was hoping lol. Thanks so much!!

You're welcome!

I do hope you get one soon! It will take some patience to get it set up at first... But it's soooo worth it!

Faceless has some excellent prices for a hybrid style mod.. I mean for what you get? It's a heck of a deal!

He also works his ... off! He is turning things around so quickly! I also love that he openly asks for feedback and improvements, even design ideas!
