Phr0st, a while back Linda was having an issue kinda like that, come to find out there was small bit of wire in the neg screw hole if I remember right, once she removed it problem solved
Yup, thanks Nancy! I worked on that dang thing for days...kept popping coils! OMG, I was certain I had gotten a bad one! But, I finally took the screws completely out (like I SHOULD have sooner?) and happened to notice that tiny piece of Kanthal stuck up under the screw head! Once I got that off....BAM! Instant success! ALSO, something similar happened with the wick a couple weeks later. When you take the old coil off, there's a pattern on the wick....well, I didn't realize it right away, but one of the coil marks wasn't a pattern...it was a piece of Kanthal....burned to the same shade as the wick. LOL Jaysus! Do I have to learn EVERYthing the hard way?
if I am not mistaken it is one of the tank charms, I was wondering how they looked in use

I give up on this thing for tonight. I will roll a new wick for it this weekend and see what it does then. It comes to a point where you got to put it down, or else pay for a new window...

Never recieved shipping notice, so I thought it was early x-mas yesterday when I found an IHY in the mailbox !!! I hurried to my storage unit (thats where the torch is kept) I hurridly wrapped my first wick, wound the kanthal, reached for a battery and watched her hit the floor. Oh by way when will the fued quarts tanks be in stock?
P.S. Thats a scarry allhallows eve.

Awww man thats harsh. Well if the tanks aren't ready soon you can always use a metal one from HoH. I personally prefer the clear ones myself, but I'd hate if I didn't have a working iHy
