Virginia is for vapers
Strange that you say this as I have been having quite the debate over at the vaporwall over the iHybrid being a copy of the Zen/Katana/orion. I've been the only voice standing up for faceless over there. It hasn't been nasty but rather a healthy debate. Needless to say there are a couple over there that aren't too happy about the iHybrid. To each their own I guess.
I think it's funny when I hear "this is a copy of that", etc, etc. A hybrid is a hybrid. Not much to it - a positive and negative post with a tank and a hole for a wick. Pretty darned simple. There are improvement here and there, such as whatever Faceless does to make it hit as hard as it does, but they are all basically the same. All based on the original raidy brainstorm. The biggest improvement that can possibly be made is AVAILABILITY - and I think Faceless is gunna be able to crank these suckers out as well as make improvements along the way.

You know, that's just silly.
At this point in the game, aren't they all "a copy" of something?

Zen has made his stance on this clear....
I have to say though, I don't see it as a copy of anything.

There are similarities that have been discussed, but I still like the PV, still intend to purchase one and some colored parts.

Honestly, how many ways can you make a genesis style anything and still look unique?
I have seen quite a few attys out there lately that look so close to the ZAtty, I had to look twice.

I think Faceless has done an outstanding job, and I don't even have one in my hands yet.

I reread faceless' post and I think you're right. I thought he was talking about a cap that screwed onto the battery tube to convert it to a 510 device not a cap that screwed into the tank/atomizer portion to make it compatible with other 510 devices. I think the latter is more likely.

Ya know, it would be kind of cool to have a cap that did attach to the battery tubes to convert them into 510. That would truly make it interchangeable and will allow greater use of all the components. I have a love / hate relationship with my Zen switch but sometimes wished Zen would make a PV using the tube and switch without the atomizer so I could use it with other stuff.

I agree with all of you and made some awesome points. Like I asked if they agreed with SuperT's stance on them inventing the bottom button and by their logic the Zen shouldn't use a bottom button and without borrowing that innovation the device wouldn't be what it is today. Their argument was that nothing on the iHybrid was original. Can't wait to see their faces when we find out what this adapter thingy whosamawhatzit (sorry but it doesn't have a name yet. ) does.

I personally like what Faceless has done. He has taken some of the features of various PVs that he liked and combined them into a PV that he liked. Many of these features have been asked for by the public and that is why we are here now. Speaking for myself, I am here because the Ihybrid to me is a cross between a Zen and a Katana = A Zentana. But, at a price that I can afford. I'm not fussy about the fact that it is partially aluminum and actually like the idea it will be lighter than a full SS model. These will catch on... Zen had said before he was happy that others are making devices like these because it takes a lot of pressure off trying to provide supply to all us vapers. And, through the efforts of all the makers they are actually advancing vape culture. Who knows? I wonder what APV will be the MUST have device next year?

I agree.
Also, I don't know that I agree that "nothing on the iHybrid is original".
Well, I don't believe I have seen any other PV with interchangable tubes.
Outer sleeves, yes. I think the Empire does that, but like I said earlier, how many ways can you skin a cat?

I've been after the elusive perfect PV since I bought my first cigalike.
The combo of battery and built in "feeder system" comes the closest for me.

And if the iHybrid looks similar to some others out there....
oh well.

To take a good idea and make it better?
I say go for it.

I think it will make some of the makers stand up and think....HHmmmm.... why didnt we do that? And on a business perspective, it would be great. We all end up collecting Vape gear, right? Wouldnt it be cool if we could mix and match a bit? Zen came up with the different Z-atty line so they looked good on the various PVs. If Faceless made an adapter for it that would make it fit flush on the most common PVs then I think people will buy it so they would have more choice..
I think Faceless is on to something and wish him luck.

That my friend is how the world advances in technology. They take a good idea and try to make it better. Without doing that we would get nowhere. We all have had our personal favorite when it comes to vaping. One day it may be a Zen / Katana / Orion / Ihybrid. The next who knows? All I know is its very exciting to see the advances being made and the people who are brave enough to attempt to do it. People like Zen and Faceless who are the little guys without the big corporate money behind them, and trying to put these PVs out get my vote.

Well, the Katana has the sleeve & the locking switch, doesn't it? And the Orion can be used with either battery. And, who cares? Faceless is making these in a quantity that can help meet an extreme need, and, by all accounts, at a quality that is more than acceptable. AND... Let's talk about the last red, black, green, or purple Hybrid APV you saw? (Yeah, yeah, yeah . There's the BAM...)

Faceless, after your done making all of the attachments for the Ihybrid; how about making a good custom holder for them? Something that attaches to our belt or clips on. I bought a leather holster for my Zen and although it is constructed well... it doesnt fit as well as I'd like it too. It was marketed to fit both standard and mini. But, I personally dont like it for the standard..it sits too high in it. Just a thought.......

You guys talk too much!!! Lol I'm almost 600 posts back!

I received my iHybrid today! Haven't fired it up yet (at work) but I love it. It's going to be great for out and about. The supposed lousy finish, isn't really that lousy! I'm anxious to see the V2 version!

Faceless you're a class act and I thank you!

LOL! The BAM is ONLY a legend at this point. I think Zen is gonna probably kill the guy doing the anodizing if they dont hurry up and get it right. I am waiting for mine for sure.. Although, to be honest I didnt purchase the BAM because I really wanted one. At that point I really wanted a Zen device and when I seen them up on the HoH site I grabbed it. Since then I have obtained a Zen SS. With the Ihybrid Im not too sure if I will keep the BAM when it finally gets here..

If you decide you don't want it PLEASE talk to me. My fiance was literally in tears that he couldn't get the black TI mini, and we started too late for the BAM, he really wants a black Zeni.
