Got it. I will stick with my Panasonics for now. My main confusion was between the red and black ones and now that you have clarified that, I see really not a whole lot of difference between the red ones and the Panasonic ones.

And like you said, will wait for Faceless to chime in as well...

There really is no such thing as a protected battery, by the time the battery gets to the point of failure and the protection circuit would kick in, the batt is too far gone to stop the reaction that is occurring internally. The AW IMR are not protected but are the safest because they don't explode when shorting out or failing, the get dam hot and will melt due to the heat but do not out gas like others. BTW the AW batt is make by Panasonic I believe but they are not labeled as such. I only use AW IMR, not AW or AW protected but AW IMR. They are the best for every need in which I require a battery in my vaping. If you have a Zen headed your way and you would like to keep your life time warranty then I would suggest picking up some AW IMR batts and using anything else will leave you without that badazz warranty. Plus the batts are cheap and not using what is recommended or warned that you should use, just seems a bit ridiculous to me. Spend a bunch of money for a device and then cheap out on a $11 item. I see the similar with people in my motorcycle chapter, buy an $20K bike and although the manufacturer tells you to run 93 octane or your engine will ping and cause excessive wear and yet they still pump in the 87 octane chit, then ditch and moan when they start having engine issues after only 50K miles and others are on 200K miles with no engine issues.

I don't bug him unless I absolutely have to.. I call him friend but he's super super busy. You do need to talk to him, and he will not be annoyed with a call for guidance. I know he did a ton of research on CC systems that would accept PVs and got burned to the tune of like 4 grand at first, I know he doesn't want to see you go through that.

I talked to him, thanks!!

I don't see vent holes in the tubes. Is it vented through the switch? Forgive me if this has already been answered in this thread...

Yes, it vents through switch, I will have a video of it venting by midnight and will post it here, wife went to get balloons lol

What batteries do you recommend using on these - (I am talking about 18650)? I use the CGR 18650s on my provari and I don't own any of the AW IMR 18650s that Zen recommends and I figured I should get whatever is recommended for this and have them in stock beforehand.

So what do you guys recommend and where to buy from? Any links?

I recommend the AW IMR, the tubes where custom made to fit those batteries and if they fail you will feel the heat in the tube. I highly recommend them. If you use something else, I will not be held liable. Do not stack batteries either, unless you like danger and living on the wild side

I am using AW IMR 2000 mah 18650's on my other hybrids and they're just about right for a 5 ml tank. The Panasonic I have are 2250 mah and they last longer. Zen's warranty is explicit about AW. Haven't seen anything from faceless on this yet.

I spoke with Zen for over an hour today on the phone, my warranty will be the same terms of service

Yeah. I just asked my wife why stevo said it wasn't accepted at post office until today and the other also. She was suppose to ship them sat on her way to work, she got home this afternoon. She pulls 48"s at the hospital. Here was her response lol

She said the walk in was closed at PO and she put 1 in the drop off slot and then she saw it read "no items over 2lbs" she got scared and waited until today on her way home to mail them. Which explains why elf got his today lol. The only lucky one I guess lol

Hahaha, that's funny. =) I used to be the assistant manager of a Tandy leather store.. we sold leather scraps by the pound. I'm really good at judging weight so I never bothered going to the back room to check it on the scale. One day I had a customer that got irate with me for not weighing his pile. So I dragged him into the back room and plopped his leather on the scale... was 1.1 lb(0.499kg) . I had guestimated 1.0 lb (0.453kg). So I walked back up to the front without a word and charged him for 1.1 pounds. I sure hope he felt like a jackass.
