When showing gaps, I think it might be helpful to show the battery that is being used too. All batteries are not the same size, despite the 18xxx designation on them, due to rather a protection circuit exists or not, and nipple size, etc, etc...

I'm using the flat top "kick battery" from Nhaler. I would imagine it should fit properly....

Virginia is for vapers
I showed the batt when I posted mine but the kick is designed for one specific batt and unless someone chooses to ignore what a company advises then the assumption should be solid and if they do choose to ignore and something doesn't fit right then that is their problem. Faceless posted the reason this gap occurs and it make perfect sense, so I am hoping the 18650 kick tube will be specifically designed for ONLY the AW IMR as that batt is what the kick is designed to be use with.
Wow - you are pretty snappish this morning! I was actually making a suggestion to The Hill Giant. On the batteries, I was trying to help out - yes, people do use things in a non-prescribed manner. My 20+ years of tech support and being a systems/network engineer has drilled into me not to take anything for granted when trying to help someone out with problems. I was just trying to get all the info. I was also curious as to why mine had a very similar small gap WITHOUT kicking it in 18350 mode. Non-kicked 18650 is fine and flush. crypto - good morning!

Was is the gap reason you speak of? I did some searching in the thread but couldn't find it.

Well Pharmboy was my hero last night and got a working coil on it.. like you said, loose coil, not even really touching the wick in most places. I love the finish, it's very nice to hold and so very light! Vapor production and flavor has been adequate. I haven't tried anything other than kickless with a AW IMR 18350 but that fits perfectly with no gaps. My only gripe is with the switch It's loose and floppy, which I can overlook, but if I want to get a good hit off it I have to mash the hell out of the switch. I guess it's cause I'm used to my AYS with only two magnets for a light touch and a washer to decrease the throw distance.

So despite me whining about the gap, I'm very pleased with the performance of the device. Nice work Faceless. I have a question, though. What size o-ring should I order to fill the gap I showed on my picture on the previous page? I filed the nylon down, but there is still a small gap there.

That is actually smaller than my gap but mine is at the switch end, if you want to change where your gap is then take the switch off tighten the batt tube and then screw on the switch and your gap will be there.

He said you could trim the insulator in the switch to make it flush but that could cause your batts to rattle if you choose not to use the kick at some point.

He is coming out with an 18650 + kick tube and I am hoping that it will be designed so that everything fits flush, especially since it will be made specifically for the batt and kick together with no other option. Personally I prefer the AW IMR batts ans since Kick has a disclaimer to only use those, when Faceless does the 18650 kick tube it should only be designed to work with that configuration. :2c:

The 18650 extension tube will be flush, its only going to be designed for the kick and not a stand alone battery :)

You can take it to Lowes or Home Depot and try different ones out until you find the right one. Larger than 5/8 is all I can assume. Im not going to bother. The gap doesn't bother me any. Its got a gap from the lock ring anyway so it doesn't look that out of place to me.

OH MAN! Check this out. So, those 5/8" glow in the dark o rings that were linked earlier in this thread are flexible enough to fill that kick gap I had. Not only that, but it actually looks sick! I replaced the tank o rings with them as well. Now I just need some pluid and I will have my very own radioactive iHybrid :D. Check this out. I'll post picks in the dark later.
